Photographer’s Note

This photo has been taken on the île Bonnaventure in the state of Québec - Canada. This island faces the world known Rocher Percé and the city of Percé. Till 1971 fishermen lived on the island without water nor electricity.

Now it is dedicated to protect wildlife. Over 80 000 Fous de Bassan nest there for nearly 6 months before the migration. It is amazing seeing so many birds at once. 80 000 birds means a lot of flies, noise and the smell is difficult to bear ;-)
