Photographer’s Note
This photo has been taken on the île Bonnaventure in the state of Québec - Canada. This island faces the world known Rocher Percé and the city of Percé. Till 1971 fishermen lived on the island without water nor electricity.
Now it is dedicated to protect wildlife. Over 80 000 Fous de Bassan nest there for nearly 6 months before the migration. It is amazing seeing so many birds at once. 80 000 birds means a lot of flies, noise and the smell is difficult to bear ;-)

hey tony, i wrote a critique along with my workshop, but it doesn't seem to be here....hmmmm. now what did i say?
i like the fact that it's only blue & white in the shot...very seaside/oceanic. the dip in the land is interesting, it gives depth to the picture.
i've done a worshop, i don't know how good it is (it's the first time i've done a workshop to someone else's photo, so please tell me what you think).
cheers, jenny

Hi Tony,
This is a very nice shot! I agree with you and wouldn´t crop the photo, but the white spot in the bottom at the left disturbs a bit. I love the way the end line of the island form (down to the center and up again) balancing with the sea. Nice start! Thank you,
All the best,
Ricardo

Hi Tony - wonderful capture of the gannet colony, the V shape of the foreground is especially interesting, a bit small image, and it would be better without the blurry bottom right corner, but still quite good.

Exellente composition et sujet étonnant. C'est vraiment incroyable de voir tous ces fou rassemblés ici. Le scan n'est pas terrible, mais je connais bien le problème pour m'y être cassé les dents sur certaines de mes contributions. Merci du partage.

Hi Tony,
Thanks for visiting my album and for your kind critique! Please accept my apologies for being so slow to respond. This is the first time I've seen your album and I like what I see!
You have a really nice photo here. The contrasts and colours are wonderful and your use of light is really great! Overall, the composition is really good although I would have been tempted to crop the blurred rail(?) from the foreground.
Nice work! Thanks for posting it!
Best wishes,
Tony

Hej tony
The composition here is extraordinary. maybe the gannets themself are a bit overexposed.
but thats a minor thing.
