Rainbow Falls Photo

Photographer’s Note

Everyone says that the rainbow always shines in the Niagara Falls. It actually only appeared in the middle of the afternoon, and when it did, the colours were magical.

I have increased the contrast by about 5 points here, on Photoshop Elements.

If anyone was looking for the pot of gold at the bottom of the rainbow, it turns out they're Falls of White :)

Great shot. I love the POV you've chosen, with the arc of the falls leading the eye from the foreground around and to the background, while the rainbow separates the scene.

This is a nice shot Valeisha. Exposure is spot on and I like the way you have framed it with the flowing water (it would have perhaps been better if you had extended the framing on the right to include all of the 'horseshoe', but of course there may have been something obstructing your POV that we can't see in this picture). I remember standing on the very spot from which you have taken this photgraph, many years ago, and being quite overwhelmed by the sight and power of the water that is rushing past you. David

Very attractive composition. You have to be there at just the right time to get this type of shot. i like the way the falls curve around the rainbow, nice one.

Fantastic vue of canadian side falls. The POV is very good, increasing the real shape of the horse shoe. The fog is present (no fog->no raibow!) and this effect can be reduced more. The is no détail in water. I think it can be improved. I will post a WS to illustrate my opinion.
