Photographer’s Note
I have taken this photo while walking down to Lake Louise after a small hike up in the mountain. Situated in Banff National Park, Lake Louise is one of the jewels of the Canadian Rockies and is known for its emerald waters. Unfortunately I could not see their colors to their full extend due to the rather poor weather I had on that day, still I hope I managed to get a reasonably clear view. The building at the far end of the lake is the "Chateau Lake Louise", a luxury hotel.
This area offers nearly endless hiking possibilities in very beautiful and preserved natural surroundings.

bonjour jean-yves, marvellous mountainscape, surprisingly still water (and the air must have been perfect as the visibility is so great there);

Salut Jean-Yves.
Belles couleurs naturelles.

A superb view, with excellent natural perspective, from the pov, & added to by the pathway. Excellent color, lighting, & okay sharpness.

Its a wonderful view. Ive been to that place several times and always found it beautiful. I thin you capture the impression Ive had of the place very well. Its a shame the majestic emerald of the water didnt quite come through.

Good shot with depth and perspective all the way JL. Interesting too see the slalom slopes on the opposite hill in the 'summer setting'. Good choice here to use the vertical format.

Bonjour Jean-Yves,

Bonjour Jean-Yves,
A good photo with a nice perspective. Cropping out its bottom would decrease the depth, but it may balance the composition better. Nice clouds partially covering the mountains.
Thanks,
Marek

Salut Jean Yves
Nice composition and colours. The path in the foreground leads the eye nicely into the scene I would be tempted to crop just a little from the foreground.

Very picturesque photo this, a lot of detail, from the rocks and plants in the foreground leading down the trail to the lake at the bottom.
Could easily be a postcard this, and it is illustrated by your border which only highlights this. Its a particularly pleasing addition to your photos!

Hello JY - the changeable light works well here, there is enough lush green and blue in the lake, the overcast is not apparent.

Very exciting lines into the photo here, created and implied by the canyon walls. I love how it snakes down to the lovely blue of the lake and sky. Now I have goals for a trip here someday!

Hello JY,

That was the one hike on my Canadian Rockies trip 3 years ago that I didn't have enough time to do, Jean-Yves, and looking at your photo makes me regret it. Nice POV allowing to build a good perspective, starting with the curving hiking trail and going all the way towards the lake and the Chateau. I like the truthful rendition of the colors, and I guess it's another successful instance of using a vertical format.

Hello Jean Yves,
Lovely composition. I like the colors mainly the blue in the lake. Greater depth of field and contrast. Greetings

Hey Jean-Yves. Yes this beautiful place is very high on my list of things to see before I keel over! ;) Seriously though that's a shame about the weather. But it is still a gorgeous shot. Good one JY!

Bonne journee

Very nice "look trough photo" with a lovey deep view. There is much to see here. I especially like the clouds and the water. The colours are maybe a bit cold, you could maybe have made them a bit warmer, but I guess you wanted to keep them how you observed them.
