Photographer’s Note
Peggy's Cove has to be one of the most photographed places in the Maritimes, but most people concentrate on the Lighthouse.
The Lighthouse isn't the only photogenic part of the village though, there are many other picturesque gems waiting just along the road :)
In this case I spotted the Old Red Schoolhouse on the hill, and then noticed the juxtaposition of colour surrounding it and I knew I'd found my shot!
The Old Red Schoolhouse is an original one-room school house. It was built in the 1830's and had students up until the 1950's - now it's used as a theatre and gallery.
The title of the picture comes from an educational TV series which ran during the 1970's and 1980's, more on that here if you're interested.

I really love the colors of the buildings. They must be painted often because they look brand new.

Hi Adrian, what immediately stands out for me is the colours, so strong and vibrant, the grass and especially the buildings. And everything is so sparp too. Well done. Thank you.

Hi Adrian,
The superposition of the colors is a success here ! There are vivid and the light is bright.
The composition is also very good. The foreground rocks, the houses, the sky : everything is fine and this creates a postcard-like shot.
The colors are saturated up to the limit, but with no excess.
Bravo !
Amicalement,
Michaël

Hi Adrian! I have to say I find this one a little bit sterile. Those houses are not real anymore - they seem like a museum idealisation, and the super-vivid paints only add to this impression.
I just made a great discovery - maybe everyone else knows this already - but you can drag an image off TE straight into photoshop! Nice. Anyway, I wondered how the scene would be without the new paint... hope you don't mind.

Une très belle vue. C'est frais, simple et bien vu. Je ne suis pas assez prétentieux pour ajouter quelque chose aux commentaires déjà fournis. Merci pour le partage. Gérard.

Hello Adrian,
Very striking colours - the wires are a bit disturbing but the msst plays the eyecatcher.

The fact that this has been posted for so long speaks to both how hard it is to keep up and also to my failure to keep up with my favorites. I love the vivid colors of the old school and houses.
I hope you don't mind, but I added this to my old school houses theme. TFS
