Photographer's Note
Sometimes good photographic opportunities don't present themselves until the very last minute. While driving around South Surrey, BC, my plan was to seek out a good location to capture a decent sunset photograph. I started out pretty late and drove south towards White Rock, a nice coastal town bordering the US. I ended up visiting several locations and none of them turned out to be great, only mediocre. Unsuccessful in the hunt, I gave up and decided to pack it in. By this time the sun had already set behind the mountains. As I was driving home something finally presented itself- a small wildlife reserve providing the fortuitous combination of subject and light at the very last minute.
Slightly cropped, unsharp mask, and auto levels adjusted in Photoshop.

Bennet,
I looks alomost like the water is burning with the neon glowing colours. Very special effect. Also a strong composition.

Excellent capture, Bennett. I particularly like the strength of the scene in the middle of the photo - the ducks, the reflection, and the green grass. Perhaps very slightly over saturated, but still very effective. Cheers.
