Niagara Rainbow

A classic view of the renowned Niagara Falls, taken last year, when I also crossed the pond and visited the US and Canada. Staying in Toronto, it was only about a 2h-drive to the Niagara Falls on the US-Canadian border. This picture was taken on the Canadian side, but what you see is the USA.

Niagara Falls is actually the collective name of three waterfalls, all located on the Niagara River at the southern end of the Niagara Gorge.

This picture shows you two of the three falls: the American Falls and the Bridal Veils Falls, the latter being the one on the right hand side. The largest falls can be found farther to the right. These Horseshoe Falls form the Canadian part. The American Falls are between 70-110ft high (21-34m), the Bridal Veil is about 78ft/24m high.

The city in the background is Niagara Falls (NY), with the city on Canadian side being unsurprisingly called Niagara Falls (ON).

Not included in this photo is the astonishing noise the millions of litres of water, tumbling down every single second, incessantly make. ;-)

Hope you like this photo, thanks for your visit.
