Photographer's Note

This diesel locomotive is on display in the Roundhouse Park. This park was created in 1997 on a former railway land, now one of Canada's most valuable real estate. It is just south of the CN Tower, a Toronto landmark, and the new Ripley's Aquarium and between some large condominium buildings. Its centerpiece is the original John Street Roundhouse, a facility which was used for servicing locomotives, now houses the indoor exhibits of the Toronto Railway Museum, and commercial businesses. Most of the museum's collection are outside in the park, these include original railway equipments and buildings. The City of Toronto operates the park with close cooperation with the Toronto Railway Historical Association. A picture of the information table associated with the locomotive shown here is in the Workshop.
