Looking through the old archives again today, I came across this one. I posted a very similar photo of this same structure a couple years ago, but its fun to re-visit it again.
A big reason why I wanted to view this one is because I want to return to it and capture the same scene with my 8-16mm lens for an even wider composition. Didn't have that lens with my when i took this photo, this was taken with a 17-70mm - much different.
What you're looking at is a large parking garage, with the Woodwards building in the bg peeking up from across the street. Hope you like it :)
Enjoy your day!

A well framed graphical composition, made all the more interesting by the moody lighting. And, no people in sight:-)

Sorry I've not been active here for the last week or so but I had a horrible conjunctivitis (after doing some decorating and probably having got a nasty piece of muck or paint in my eye!) and couldn't really concentrate on looking at pictures! So I have some catching up to do on the critiquing!
Yes, when I look at this I can fully see how you'd love to get back to this place with your super-wide "city" lens! At least it's in your home city so it's not as though you've got to travel all the way to warsaw or Prague to repeat the shot.
But, really, you should make no apology because this is a wonderful photograph with incredibly strong lines of composition and some lovely lighting and colours. The great strong sweep of the lines of the multi-storey car park (I presume that's what it is?) from top left downwards and then off to the right is wonderful, topped off nicely by the tall building at the top and underlined perfectly by the strip of light at the bottom.
Excellent colours, perfect exposure and, as always, stunning details and sharpness.

To make a parking garage look interesting is quite well done. You make the blue and black curves look really fine, and I like the convex curve of the tall building inside the concave curve of the garage.

Hi Craig, For me it is wide enough, but I am curious to see also wider shot. How even garage can be interesting when photo made by good photographer. I like the curves and blues. Spectacular composition.
Will we meet here tomorrow again :). What about your hair cut?

effective shot this and I wonder what it would have looked like with your even wider lens. The sweeping lines are wonderful and captured in this shadowy light more imposing. A punchy and irresistible piece of architectural imagery!
Have a great weekend - Brian.

Great graphical-geometrical effect that works really well and the powerful smooth curvy lines being the main dominant feature and rightly so. This is bold and brilliant seen from such an impressive pov and perspective accentuating the depth and space. The lovely blueish colors and glimpse of golden glow surrounding the structures is fantastic. Subtle, the general scene is a beauty considering this is the only bit of light to show but you did fantastically. A winning combination! Great shot of high quality as usual. Congrats

Hi, my friend Craig,
a good low-angle shot, and a dynamic perspective that emphasizes the geometry of the parking, and combine its elegant curves with the building that we see in background, in a good graphical contrast with the blue sky. The difficult light is balanced well, the photo has a good exposure. Excellent work.
My best wishes for you and your family in this Christmas Holidays.

This building reminds me of an old hotel we have in Sydney, that used to be called the Wentworth. I love the curves here, the angles and of course the blue hour. I think you could probably have brightened the shite details of the building a little more (perhaps selectively in layers) although this is such a question of personal taste and I understand that many would leave it as-is. Excellent vertical frame, sharpness and angled POV.
Thanks for sharing, have a great day

It is always good to go back in aeras where we already practice photography. It is pushing to do new original shots, to find new point of view, to shearch new lightning.
Here the composition is very good, well using all the elements and geometric shapes available. Moreover, a good work on the exposure, balance shadows and lighted zones.
