This is the narrow entrance to the Ucluelet marina, in the background, seen over a shallow pool of water at high tide. The red pier that catches the eye connects to several floating docks situated outside the little bay that contains the marina. After several days of rain, I rushed out to take a few pictures as soon as the sun came out. The rain returned a little while later.
Water's Edge Resort at Pacific Rim in Ucluelet occupies a tiny peninsula that is connected to the main Ucluelet peninsula by a narrow strip of land, and borders the marina. The location is ideal, with beautiful views of the Ucluelet inlet from the balcony of most rooms (some seen here on the left). One can follow the rise and fall of the tide, as well as the bald eagles following fishing boats in the inlet, from the living room sofa. I recommend the resort very highly to those who might want to plan a vacation in the area, with one caveat: the "Luxury 1-Bedroom Suite" we had had a pretty shabby bed, and the worst pull-out sofa I have ever slept on.
