Architecture isn't the only subject that interests me, I'm also a lover of cars, trucks, trains, barns, cranes, industrial work sites, and large tankers like this one, I guess its the Man in me coming out :)
I was able to get this point of view be walking across the Iron Workers Memorial bridge, the bridge that connects the City of Vancouver to the City of North Vancouver. The bridge was named "Iron Workers Memorial" because there were a number of deaths during its construction.
This large ship can often be seen at the Port, it seems to never leave! Well, at least that gives photographers ample of time to shoot it.
Hope you enjoy it.

Splendidi i colori, bravissimo.
Un caro abbraccio

Well framed shot - though I'm not sure the tilt is really necessary on this one, it does give an interesting perspective. The tug in the background gives a nice counterbalance to the size of the tanker, as do the trucks parked nearby; great color and pattern on the water. TFS!

Hello Craig, Glad you liked the Czech shot. Wow, did I get a stiff neck looking at this one. Great looking ship. I guess it was a tanker or some form of cargo ship. If you haven't done the Panama Canal, you have to do that if you like ships. It is full of them coming and going.
Good choice of this one as the red goes very well with the blue water. You were quite high for this one. Sharp shot, as these old eyes can read the No Smoking etc . Excellent presentation. Regards,. Roger

a clever and effective presentation, it certainly grabbed my attention. Stunning clarity and sharp detail and a wonderful balance of textures, colours and I love the diagonals of the waves. Striking imagery!

Compliments for the selected angle of the shot which makes this picture more lively as the eyes draw to the uniform ripples on the blue water. The ship colour is a good contrast. Well managed light and excellent sharpness. TFS,

C'est impressionnant d'avoir cadré ce navire en diagonale cela donne l'impression qu'il va se coucher!
Bel accord de couleurs rouge bleu.

drôle de façon de vider les cuves du bateau ...mais pourquoi pas !lol

Boys and their toys! Super!
I like the oblique presentation which has allowed you to not only to keep the quayside parallel to the bottom of the picture and to include the large green object (?barge) at top right, but it has also given the whole photograph a refreshingly different look. I particularly like the waves travelling diagonally across the frame at an angle of 45° to what we normally would expect.
The colours are amazing as also is the amount of detail clearly visible, particularly on the deck of this cargo ship and the wharf next to it.
Lovely lighting, perfect exposure and stunning sharpness. And I'll say it with confidence (!) - a wonderfully subtle and painstaking HDR treatment too!

I like the idea of tilting and this is a deliberate compositional decision. A superb image, detail is spot on, focus is pin sharp and the subtle colours, you've handled the exposure pretty well and the excellent blue sea makes the shot much stronger than it would otherwise be. It is very obvious a lot of thought has gone into this, you sure have an eye for this kind of shot and creative tilting pov.

I had to open this to see if I could find the man in the photo then I discovered the man is behind the camera. I too like mechanical things and have a real desire to get inside of one of the big clock like the Peace Tower and shoot away. Anyway, this is a great photo. I like the fact that you resisted the need to have the boat level. Nice work.

This is certainly not the classic way to shoot a boat but the effect is eye catching and brings a new dimension to baot photography. Good colors and sharp details add to the composition.
