Vancouver Street Art, a photo from British Columbia, Western

Photographer's Note

Walking along Georgia street, i was intending to photograph Vancouver's tallest sky scraper.

The photo's didn't turn out as good as i hoped, but when i was walking back to my car i noticed this well lit scene of artwork. Its illuminated very brightly, and i'm still not exactly sure what it was that i was photographing :)

As you can see, its late in the blue hour, so i had to hurry it up a bit. The yellow portion on the bottom is actually a pool of water, about 5 inches deep. So those white lines you see along the bottom are water reflections. The shapes caught my attention right away. I do have others to share, an couple of abstracts will follow in the next few days.

Hello Craig,

Nice artwork, I like the 'wave' effect given by all those white curved piece. You also plaied with the colors with the opposition between yellow and the blue hours.
It is funny, although you were using a 10mm lens, I feel compressed. You should have been very close to the subject.

Isn't it interesting that you set out to photograph something special but, in the end, you come away with pictures of something very much more interesting!

This is indeed a fine "abstract" shot with wonderful strong lines and colours. I'm not quite sure what it is either but it is certainly eye-catching.

Good composition, colours and sharpness and perfect exposure considering what must have been very difficult lighting.

I don't think it's a Vancouver Street Art,
I think it's a Craig Picture Art.

Excellent point of view: the yellow pool
is a nice extra, creates the beautiful
reflections and the reflections creates
a nice depht in this picture.

Aslo the moment and timing is great, the
blue sky is a also a nice extra.

The composition and light/exposure are in
a excellent balance....My compliments.

Hi Craig,
very original both the art and its presentation. Blue hour seems the best time to view this creation. Plenty of interesting lines and shapes resulted in a very interesting geometry here.
Very well captured with some reflection in the FG and a fragment of the blue sky which extra enhances the effect.
Not what I like most yet it is a pleasure to see it.

It probably works better by this time of the day than during the daylight.The lines and the reflections create a good effect.Also the yellow colour of the pool and the blue sky. A very good composition and exposure.Good that you noticed it!You must have a good series:)!
