Strange strange weather here in Vancouver...
It seems like we just had our autumn season hit us, then we get our first snow of the season. I'm not sure if its autumn or winter around here.
Snow is not a common occurance in this part of the country, so it was a visual treat to say the least.
With our mild weather, it will melt quickly, lasting only a day, maybe 2 if we're lucky.
For this photo, i thought a simple composition was best. In the background, the taller Condo is the Woodwards Building...hence the "W" you see to the far left. You can't tell from this angle, but its shaped like an arrow, and its very challenging to photograph at certain compositions.
Hope you like this seasonal view

It's a pleasure to give you a happy face for this capture.
The composition works well, it's as sharp as a tack and you've chosen a good subject.
See, I'm not such a monster after all, don't want to incur the wrath of the smiley police again, she knows where I live.

An engaging note informs this photo. The dusting of snow seems incongruous with the foliage on the trees. The building in the background, I am certain that they were not there when I made my only visit to Vancouver thirty years ago.
Have a good Sunday,

It is always the unexpected that is exciting and weather has not been predictable in my area too causing much hardship in some cases. So at least the snow is a welcoming sight. I like how the tracks lead our eyes into the frame and the crisp buildings is a good choice and pleasing to the eyes.
Have a nice weekend.

Hello Craig. With the three trees in front of the two tall buildings inside a vertical frame and some pathways in the snow makes this a nice photo. I like it.

Early winter came to Vancouver. You were quick enough to make the shot before the snow melt. Nice composition with a trail of something.

Vous semblez avoir pris un peu d'avance sur les saisons à Vancouver!Une agréable composition "hivernal" dont j'aime l'harmonie de teintes.

Seems like you have about as much snow as we have here!
Except for the foliage, the leaves here are long gone by now, brought to ground by autumn storms...
I like the composition with the contrast between the two seasons, exciting!

Whereas on Versailles we have the rain, in Canada the first snows made their appearance, it is prettier all the same with these autumnal colors. Good framing on this park with these buildings in background and the vertical format is judicious. Pleasant glance, thank you Craig.
With all my friendships and excellent Sunday,

Bonjour, cher Graig,
L'automne est un andante mélancolique et gracieux qui prépare admirablement le solennel adagio de l'hiver.
Une bien belle image d'un hiver qui s'est mis dans les pas de l'automne.
Très belle présentation.

Hello Craig! Wonderful two towers, two sky-scrapers. Superb weather, fine lightness and colours. Good cut, very good frame. Well done!

That's a well seen scene. The strange weather is everywhere...Here, in nivember we have 26 degrees Celsius while there should be 10-12 in the middle of the day...Anyway, good capture, fine idea.
Have a great evening.

Nice shot of remarkable contrasts and colours. Here, we have had snow as well over 1500 meters, prelude of winter.
Have a good Sunday,

A well composed shot perfectly suited to the vertical format. The three little trees are nicely placed in juxtaposition to the background high rises. The tracks in the snow draw the viewer into the image. Light, colours and sharpness are all very good.

Hi Craig, what weird weather conditions you're having...us too. But no snow thank God. I blame it on Oprah the Antichrist who's visitng ou shores at the moment, but you have no excuse over there in Canada. The image is immaculate, sharp, light beautifully managed, with the vestiges of Autumn colours still there. Also good to see you;ve redeemed yourself with Wallsy ;) one more Cranky Face and he'd be sleeping with the fishes. TFS and I hope you recover :) Lisa

On sait que l'hiver arrive mais on essaie toujours de la retarder le plus possible. Mais il demeure qu'un beau tapis blanc quand les arbres ont encore leurs feuilles c'est très beau.

The thin layer of snow is enough to make a good contrast to the autumnal coloured trees. Quite a grey day for shooting, but the sky is gray just enough to make it dark enough to provide contrast. Here we had a flicker of snwo one weekend in october, then it disappeared. We also have a mild climate compared to the inland. Well chosen vertical format. Nice work! TFS.
Have a nice week.
Best regards, Erling

It seems that the winter already has begun in Vancouver.
The composition combines with efficiency the trees with its nice autumnal colors, the architecture in BG and the first snow that covers the city.
The light is good, and the colors are obtained well.
A beautiful work, my friend, it's a very pleasant photo.
shevchenko (18892) 2010-11-21 21:53
