Photographer’s Note
Flying at 10209 m 33500 feet at N80.33849 W70.19418, this is the East Coast of the Elesmere Island deep in the Arctic region, the broad channel in the right is the Nares Strait between Elesmere Island and Greenland. Large mountain areas without any snow, glaciers ending in the middle of their way to the sea and instead of frozen sea, just many smaller icebergs on the wonderfully blue sea. This seemed to be a shocking evidence of Global Warming. Many sea farers were looking some hundreds years ago for the Northern Passage. Their ships often had to staty over winter as they were caught in the freezing ice.

Hi again Michael
It always amazes me how people can take such good photos from a moving plane at 500mph!
you even have great depth of field, clearly seeing the mountain tops way in the back of your shot.
too bad you couldn't open the window ! the only thing you can tell is that the colours are effected as its taken thru a plane window
but hey, great shot Michael, well done
Thanks for sharing

Hi Michael,
This is a superb shot. I have neve seen anything like it before and it is truly fascinating to look at. I agree that this might be a shocking evidence of Global Warming and it would have been interesting to see what this place looked like 50 years ago at the same time of the year. TFS and have a nice Sunday!
Kind regards,
Ulf
