Photographer’s Note
One of the challenges with trying to capture the beauty of Lake Louise is taking it all in with a single camera frame. That is why I am posting this panorama to allow the walkway on the left with the glacier on the far end of the lake. This is the best way in my mind to capture this lake. In the summer months when the colors are vibrant its best to approach this lake in the morning hours. On Aug 25th sunrise in Banff was at 7 am but this photo was not taken until 8:39AM allowing the sun to peek into the lake for this photo. As you can see timing is critical. Later on in the afternoon the sunlight will be above the glacier making most of my previous photos only worth deleting. I trust this can be helpful for your next visit to this lake. Enjoy.

Hello Paul,
Another great shot of this lake. Beautiful setting indeed. I find the colours a bit cool but the view is striking with the reflection of Victoria on the water. Your panorama worked well to capture a wide view of this shore, and the rocks on the left seem properly exposed under the light...Lake Louise look very nice from all the summits in this picture. From the summit of Victoria this lake look similar to an Egyptian queen head.

hi Paul
great lanscape under a very good light!
the snow seems almost overexposed and one little dust particle is visible in the sky
great landscape and nice reflexion!

Amicalement

Hallo Paul!
This photo doesn't need much words. It's perfect in each respect and it trasmits the atmosphere of a beginning day wonderfully. A place to marvel ...
Greetings from Germany where autumn is knocking at the door!

Hi Paul,
You are right about the light advantage in the mnorning, but I have seen some sunset shots from this viewpoint that are amazing.
What I really like about this early version, is those tree shadows that are stretching over the lake. The big version is really worth the look! Beautiful.

Hi Paul
Beautiful timing indeed with the shadows on the lake.
I am just wondering whether an earlier shot would have enhanced the clarity of the background....

Hey Paul,
the picture speaks for itself. What I find really interesting is how the geology interacts with the vegetation here. Have a look on the layer on the left mountain thats either too steep or doesn't provide the needed nutrients for the firs. Looks as if the timber line exists twice here. Nice photo with interesting detail!
Perfect for TE!
Andreas
