This photo was taken during the flight from Vancouver - Whitehorse, a few minutes after takeoff. It was the first time that I could admire the Rocky Mountains from sky.

Hi, Eric,
This is an amazing vantage point! I find it remarkable that the overall level of the clouds is so uniform over such a large expanse and yet there is still texture at the finer scale. It is also remarkable that the mountain tops are just tall enough to poke out above the clouds, and of course they are the stars of the photo.
I'm having a bit of a hard time figuring out the lighting. The light scattered off of the clouds seems a bit too dark for clear sky conditions and yet it looks like you are shooting into the direction of the sun with it mainly overhead.
It would be nice to know more about just which peaks are visible in your notes.
