Photographer’s Note

A semi frozen Lake Agnes, shot from the Teahouse, which closes early October. I'm not sure, but what looks like a rabbit, or fox, can be seen at left, behind the clump of grass, in the mid distance. I've dodged the fg shadows, to bring out more detail.

'Lake Agnes is a small mountain lake in the Banff National Park of Alberta, Canada.

It has a surface of 0.52 km² and is located approximately 3.5 km (one-way) hiking distance from Lake Louise. A teahouse is situated along the eastern shore at an elevation of 2134 metres (7002 ft). A hiking trail continues down the northern shore, making a 180° turn before ascending to the Big Beehive. Just before the trail starts the arc, a scrambling route up Mount Niblock can be found.

The Little Beehive can be ascended to the east of Lake Agnes. At the top, there are excellent views of the Continental Divide.'

I like the reflection on the water and the lovely semi-frozen atmopshere in the lake.

Another winter scene just as I thought spring was well and truly here :-) Seriously though, a fine composition with good colours and sharpness. The foreground water with the reflections are a nice bonus and contribute to the depth of the image.

Hi Chris,

Bravo 1500 pictures on TE, the reflections in the water are assets to the composition. The point of view leads our eyes toward the mountains which is giving depth to the photo. The reflection of the light on the snow is enhancing the colors of the mountain scenery. Have a nice day.

nice the view of this semi frozen lake with the snowy cliffs of the Mt. in the background.In the little piece of the foreground that the lake is unfroze, we can see a reflection of the Mt. peak.Well done.

mais une fois de plus, je retrouve une exposition un peu haute qui a l'air sur mon écren du moins, d'attenuer un peu trop les contrastes.
