Photographer’s Note

Here we have a tradition inherited from Amerindians. And this forest is not unknown. It is a maple tree forest.

These guys on the image were going to collect the maple sap (see also here).

While maple trees wake up from a long frozen winter, their sap begins flowing like an abundant new "blood" circulation. And that is it they were going to collect and bring to the sugarhouse.

Then, this "water" is concentrated by evaporation, filtered (here) and concentrated again, until it is proper to be canned – like that.
