Point culminant de la randonnée "Iceline" du parc de Yoho, après avoir grimpé les dizaines de moraines laissées par les glaciers qui ont reculés de plus de 100m en 20 ans... Le vieux sentier retracé est maintenant dans les arbres. Dans l'immense vallée entourée de montagnes pointues, avec la fumée de feux de forêts au Montana voisin, vent frais qui descend des du Glacier Émeraude, rochers oranges chauds sous le soleil tapant et rocs blancs glacés dans la terre encore gelée... Terre de contrastes.
Pas facile de photographier dans ces conditions d'exposition, contrastes avalés par la fumée, versants nords en contre-jour qui désaturent, utilisation du mode "stitch" pour coller les 4-5 photos ensembles par la suite afin de créer le panorama.
J'ai dû faire vite pour avoir notre ami sur la photo, j'aurais pu le cadrer mieux mais ça fait plus naturel ainsi.
Avec l'expérience je crois que les meilleurs panoramas collés sont ceux qu'on prend avec le viseur sans trépied: l'essentiel est que la caméra ne pivote pas son horizon, il vaut donc mieux bouger tout le corps et faire les clichés sans trop viser. C'est par la suite que le logiciel ajuste les bords, mais il sera incapable de le faire si l'horizon n'est pas constant.
J'ai fini par voir la procédure pour obtenir la version plus large d'un Panorama!
Yoho National Park
Moraines
High point on the Iceline Trail in Yoho National Park, after climbing dozens of moraines left behind by glaciers that receded more than 100m in 20 years... The old path on the glacier's edges is now under the treeline. In the deep valley surrounded by sharp mountains, with smoke form neighboring Montana's fores fires, cold downdraft from the Emerald glacier, orange stones hot under the glaring sun and white boulders cold as ice in the frozen ground... The realm of contrasts.
IOt's not easy to photograph in those exposure conditions, the contrasts are washed out by the smoke, the northern slopes back-lighted that desaturate, and the use of the stitch mode to later on glue those 4-5 pictures to create this panorama.
I had to point&shoot quickly to get our friend in the frame, I could have aimed better but I feel it's more natural this way.
In retrospect I think the best panoramas are the ones we take with the eyepiece without tripods: The essential part is that the camera must keep the same horizon, without rotating it, thus it is best to move the whole upper body & not adjust the frames perfectly. It is in post-processing that the software can adjust the fine posiioning, but it will be incapable of doing so if the horizons are not aligned.

I bet yoy ended up with many good shots of this trekk. The Little Yoho Valley is an awesome place to spend a few days hiking. Considering the conditions at the time you did a very good job with the images. The look sharp and the colours natural. I like the inclusion of your buddy there to give this wild scenery a more livey feeling. Cheers and keep posting!
