Photographer’s Note
The method of harvesting hay has dramitically changed in the last few years. All over the Fraser Valley you can see these plastic bales wrapped in sticky plastic keeps all moisture lcoked out. Because our annual above average rainfall these plastic wrapped bales are perfect for our area. They are always stored outside all year long.
I have had my full share of stacking square bales on a wagon and then stacked again up in the hayloft.
ALso I have found that a real good indicator of good dry weather is by seeing the hay being cut in the fields.
By looking at this barn you can tell its a chicken farm. The barn is sealed to keep disease from entering inside. Very strict regulations are inforced to protect their food saftey.
Last year in February the Canadian government decided to kill 19 million farm birds in an attempt to contain an outbreak of bird flu.
The poultry industry is worth nearly US$1 billion to British Columbia each year, of which 80% comes from the Fraser Valley. Such outbreaks were almost unheard of until 1997.
This view is looking north into the mountains taken at 7:30 am last Saturday. I used the 50mm 1.8 lens which brought this scene into a nice pespective. Does the grass along the fence add or subtract to the photo?

Morning Garden
Beautiful landscape (barn) and nice composition. This shot gives the perspective thought, where you got the fence in the foreground, the barn in the mid and finally the mountain, sitting in the background. Good pic, Mr Garden.
Well done.

Hi Paul, another beautiful landscape shot. You helped your composition a great deal with the inclusion of the hay in the foreground. I like your title of the shot, no messing around with it! ;) The shot contains your usual good work with natural beauty. Oh a good note, and I didn't know those things were sealed. Another good one Paul. How did we fare with the data from the hard drive?
Happy 1000 points!

Hi Paul,
Very nice play of tones for the atmospheric perspective and beautiful lighting. Indeed the changes are clearly seen and you have shown it well. Beautiful shot!! All the best.

Well, the family is flying back to BC today. It looks like they'll have some nice weather to be coming back to.
Very interesting note Paul, a lot of research involved? I like the colors and clarity in the shot, and I think the tall grass along the fence ADDS to the photo.
Cheers!

Hi Paul, This is a beautiful picture. With many different layer of colors in the picture, my view follows each layer to see some delighted scene. I think the grass in the front provided a nice frame. If I have choice, I would like to remove the high voltage power lines and the towers. I know we have not choice here.
A very well taken picture with nice contrast, clarity, depth, and sharpness. Well done.
