Photographer's Note
In recognition of the winter Olympics which opened in Vancouver this week, I've uploaded a shot taken in Stanley Park, Vancouver in Fall, 2008.
"The 2010 Winter Olympics, officially the XXI Olympic Winter Games or the 21st Winter Olympics, is a major international multi-sport event held on February 12–28, 2010, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, with some events held in the resort town of Whistler, British Columbia and in the Vancouver suburbs of Richmond, West Vancouver and the University Endowment Lands. Both the Olympic and Paralympic Games are being organized by the Vancouver Organizing Committee (VANOC). The 2010 Winter Olympics will be the third Olympics hosted by Canada, and the first by the province of British Columbia."

Hi Chris,
The presence of the woman has an effect of scale. The point of view is allowing me to see the details and colors of the totems. The trees are framing well the totems. The intensity of the light has a good effect on the colors. Have a nice day.

Hello Chris,
In spite of the death of this Georgien sportsman who plunges into mourning the first day of these Winter Olympics of Vancouver, I hope that it will be a beautiful competition during these 16 days. Beautiful and interesting photograph to commemorate these games, I like the colors and the light of the image. Thank you Chris.
With all my friendships and a very good WE,

Hi Chris,
A very nice shot to commemorate the Winter Olympics. I remember your trip to Vancouver when you treated us to spectacular photos, including photos of towering totem poles.
Your scanned photos are among the finest seen at Trekearth. What kind of scanner do you recommend?
warm regards,
Bulent

Hello Chris,
I have already had great enjoyment watching the winter sports. There are a lot of very brave and very committed sportspeople out there!
This is quite a different side of Vancouver than the one we have been seeing on t.v. The tall, symbolic totems make a strong statement across the centre of the frame.
I am pleased that you have included a person in the shot. She adds life and enthusiasm to the scene.
Perhaps a little more f/g interest could have been achieved by burning the shadows on the footpath.
Have a good day,
Bev :-)
