Photographer’s Note

People enjoying a sunny afternoon on Kitsilano Beach Park, Vancouver. I was playing with under exposure (-2), shooting against the sun.

Definitely a happening place geared for the younger set (teens to thirties) with a lovely outlook spanning from open bay, to North Shore mountains to Stanley Park. There are lots of activities here with something for everyone.

This area was originally known as Greer's Beach, named for the pioneer who unsuccessfully challenged the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) take over of his homestead here in the 1890s. Later, private citizens raised the money to purchase the beach front land back from the CPR while the Park Board leased additional lots to create this popular park.

É uma foto bem do mesmo estilo, com o céu alaranjado e as silhuetas das pessoas! A grande diferença é a troca da altura pelo mar, que pegou um reflexo também alaranjado muito bonito! Belo trabalho!

You succeed well with the exposure play, as you make the afternoon look like a golden sunset!
The play of light is amazing and the silhouetted people adds life and depth in the frame...

I like a lot this 'shadows' teather, I tried a similar on in Maldives, it's in my gallery. Good use of backlight shapes, I like colors in the sky

A sueprb sunset with incerdible colors in the sky and too in the sea withe the reflection. But here, I like especialliy the effect of the black silhoeut in the FG. Very nice graphic effectn dynamism, rythm.

Ciao Carlos,
spettacolare sunset nel colore e nella composizione.
La tonalità di colore arancione è entusiasmante, mentre la composizione oltre ad essere arricchita dalla nuvolosità, si esalta nel contrasto ottenuto dalla silhouette dei muretti, della costa e degli elementi umani che inoltre animano anche la scena.

Carlos..i'd love it if you found some order in the elements or a story..be it straighforward or with some amount of subjetivity...this looks rather flat..

Its not backlighting after all..sun is high up..you did expose for the highlight thats helped you with the silhouettes...

is the second shot i see today from Kitsilano beach park.Lovely the silhouettes from the enjoying the sunset people that looks like as caricatures.I have been walked in this park as in Vernier park six months ago.Fine presentation.

Tem gente que não entende de fotografia e arte, ainda. Você cria um ambiente, escolhe P&B, sépia, filtro de cores quentes, etc. Se o sol está alto, não importa.
Você captou muito bem este ambiente descontraído, onde as pessoas estão se divertindo no parque, dia de verão, um bom momento para se estar com os amigos. Ótimo trabalho!

Belas cores e luminosidade no céu, com destaque para o formato das nuvens! As silhuetas na parte inferior da imagem confere vida à ela, mesmo que as pessoas pareçam estátuas, pelo menos são estátuas que parecem estar vivas! Um trabalho de mestre!

People enjoying themselves indulging in various activities. The silhouettes work well and the colour tone of the light...some PP work there together with the polariser effect? The different layers are nice and work together well for the eyes. The underexposure trick works well!
