Photographer’s Note

The same location as the more dramatic shot from last day, that is the Stawamus Chief. Here you can see a much better view of Howe Sound, which is probably the most easily accessible fjord in Canada (an hour away from downtown Vancouver). Not surprising that this place is spiritual for the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh people (damn, now if only I could pronounce that).

Although I like last day's photo better, I posted this one too because it shows another interesting impression: being at the beach, but 700m above sea level. It has a lot of smooth open space, a great place for sunbathing, has a great unobstructed view of the water, people lying about and having a picnic. A very beach-like feeling. Now, if only the water were a little closer...
