Takakkaw Falls, at the end of a 14 km (8.5 mi) road into the Yoho Valley, is probably the most impressive waterfall in the Canadian Rockies - certainly it is the tallest. The falls are fed by the Daly and Des Poilus Glaciers of the Waputik Icefield, which straddles the Continental Divide. Meaning "wonderful" in the language of the Cree, Takakkaw tumbles 254 m (830 ft) over a sheer rock wall. Crossing a footbridge over the Yoho River, it is possible to walk to the base of the falls for a close-up encounter - for the photo I preferred to show them from a distance as I find the compositional possibilities when standing right below the falls a bit limited, plus there is the worry of avoiding to get water on the lens ...

Hi Norbert,
What a perspective here, the bridge together with the people and the waterfall in the background, give a very nice composition, again a very great panorama view.
Best regards,
John.

Guten Morgen Norbert,
The falls are really impressive and so is your well balanced composition that shows also the beauty of the surrounding nature. The soft light makes every detail visible.

Guten Tag Norbert

I like the superb pov & strong cross diagonal afforded by the bridge. Good sharpness & color, even if the light was not co-operating fully. Well done!

Hi Norbert,
Of course - your note reminded me of an unpleasant event and ending up with wet lens and dozens of photos I had to bin because of thin spray floating in the air between the waterfall and my camera...
Anyway, you always come up with a good POV and that makes me wondering about how much time in average do you actually spend planning and choosing a spot to shoot from?
Here I especially like rendering of cliffs - amazing colours...

Hello Norbert
Another good souvenir you are bringing back here
Your POV is excellent to show the falls in its entirety and in its environment.
Knowing the place,I am sure that the position you choose must have been lonely, not many people taking a photo from this vantage point.
Charles

Hi Norbert,
Superb PoV here to place the waterfall and the bridge on opposing but neqrly meeting lines, another superb BC scenery where I also notice the superb water color.
Have a nice sunday,
Jean-Yves

hi norbert, i may see you were having a great time there in canada; on your works one may nearly feel and smell the country as being there with you, and that is an art i think;
what an adventure trip you had!
best, jerzy

Another beautiful image from you Norbert. Excellent composition and viewpoint as always. I love the variety of greens, including the green water and the detail you have captured in the rock face.

Great shot of the falls and the surrounding area as well. I was also a visitor to these falls about 2 months ago, and I didn't even know that there was a bridge over the river because, like you, I stayed at a distance and shot. You not only captured the impressive height of the falls, but again you have wonderful colour and definition in the trees. Outstanding!

Hi Norbert

What a fantastic place. The view is marvelous and the bridge make a very fine balance into your composition. Colors and lighting are mavelous too! Nice work.

Hi Norbert,
Superbe landscape... the waterfall is awesome! I like your composition with the bridge in the foreground and the presence of the people give us the scale.
Regards, Brigitte

Hi Norbert!
It's an interesting view- the wild mountains and a new bridge with people. Nicely composed landscape. The light was fine, good colors and sharpness.
Regards.

So maybe you need a bigger zoom for wet places, Norbert :-)
The "date taken" is my birthday date, so I wish that I could be in this place at least next birthday. VEry nice POV. I like the curved line of the falling water, it gives an additional dimension.

Hi Norbert. Wait a second is that a large tree on the right?? lol! I like the way those major lines interact with each other, as in the large tree, the bridge and the falls. I didn't know they had any falls that large either. The light sure was on your side. Good shot Norbert.

With your postings from this trip maybe one gets so 'spoiled' that this one looks ina way more 'ordinaire' Norbert.
Still a well made and well working compo. Nice placement of the details here, good use of lines and diagonal. And the landscape - just wonderful. Guess we can wait a closer look at this mighty waterfall as here it looks almost modest even with the 254m (which btw is only 3 m less of our tallest one)

Very nice shot with the bridge pointing the way toward the waterfall. I like how the two intersect just off center.

Impressive view; not only the waterfall, but especially these steep mountains. The bridge in front is good for comparison point. Well done.
