This photo was taken as a freight train passed through one of several tunnels required to navigate the Kicking Horse Pass of the Rocky Mountains. Building the rail line through this section of the mountains was considered an engineering marvel.

Well done with your timing. The freight train adds so much to this shot. Provides great scale and a spark of colour. Without it the shot would have been average.
Well done and thank you for sharing.

no, it's not the Spiral tunnel, unique in the world

superb picture in panorama size.I bet,it wasn´t easy to break through all these rocks, but it was definitely worthwhile.I´ve seen document on TV about the route from Toronto to Vancouver through entire Canada. It lasts about 60hours,but the views and landscapes youpass by are unforgettable.Well done!
Have a nice weekend

I was reading only recently about train routes in the Rockies, and how some tunnels had been enlarged to take container trains - and here this pops up ! I see they why now, they're double decker..
Pictures this proportion might well stand posting as an enlarged version, much of the detail is lost this size, and I bet it looks pretty good full size.

Very strong winter view. Good timing and framing here. I love red train movement effect.
Have a lovely week.
