Photographer’s Note

I've tried some burning & dodging here. Best time of day for shooting here was around 10am. This impressive Indian totem pole stands outside the Royal BC museum in Victoria, on Vancouver Island.

A very interesting composition of the totem, indeed imposing from its size and appearance, but mainly because of the POV. Strong and nice colors and sharp details

Hey Chris,
The Totem stands well in the scene with the blue sky and excellent colors throughout.
A hard image to capture as there is not much to help as per shapes, etc.

The vertical format is perfect to capture this colourful totem pole. A good well framed composition. The detail on the pole is very well rendered with excellent colours and clarity.

Bonjour Chris,
un parc très connu avec tous ses totems, maintes fois exposé sur TE. Tu as choisi de nous en cadrer un en particulier, en nosu montrant aussi ce qui l'entoure. Tout cela dans de belles couleurs, y comprise celle du ciel.

With low POV, the totem looks magnificent against the clear blue sky.
Vivd colors, shadows&lights and perfect sharpness make the composition very attractive, too.

Another good shot of these totem poles in Victoria. Nice close in view, showing us the details of the design, while at the same time we can see the whole park. I like how you kept the pole vertical too. Well done!
