Photographer’s Note
Once again, I've been flipping through some of photos of years past, always a good exercise. I've found a couple of photos that I particularly enjoyed at the time.
This was a brisk November evening in Vancouver and we were walking around Lost Lagoon. I must have 100 pics of swans and ducks on my computer from the various trips to Stanley Park.

Bonjour Donald
Très jolie composition. Le format en hauteur est bien choisi pour nous faire apprécier au maximum la beauté du paysage et l'élégance des cygnes.
Merci pour le partage et bonne journée.

Hello Donald,
You caught a very nice light which illuminates nicely your compo. The swans in FG and its reflections are just great.
Cheers,
Marilyn

Hi Donald,
You chose a excellent vertical frame, we see the swans in foreground and above the splendid edge of the lagoon with walkers in background, very well composition and colours too! TFS.
Have a nice weekend,
John.

The swans are so photogenic, and yet I don't think I have a single picture of them, despite having visited Lost Lagoon many times. Maybe they are sleeping late and I miss them? I think the grass in the foreground may be a little distracting, but it's a good shot anyways. Well done!

Hi Don,
You captured the light nicely here, without undue glare on the swans. The foreground grasses enhance and there is good DOF, with the distant swans helping to balance the frame nicely. The gentle ripples on the water are pleasing and produce a real ambience of tranquillity. Well captured, Don...By the way, I just read in the morning paper of a snowshoer caught in trouble on Mt. Seymour, so TE members should always travel together in the wilderness! Have a good weekend.

Hi Don. Excellent subject. This is a well composed and exposed shot. I love the glassy water and the reflections it gives. Nice work and thanks for sharing.
Cheers, Paul.

Hi Don!
This is a nice picture of the Lost Lagoon with the swans.I like the reflections.
It looks like from your note that you like water-fowls as well.
Thanks for sharing and have a good weekend to you too!

Good Evening Donald. I agree with you on the quality of this photo. Very warm fall tones from the shoreline trees in the background. The calm water puts one in a reflective mood as the day comes to and end. People stroll along the waterfront trail and chat idly to rekindle friendship bonds that reinforces our belief that man is a social creature. Meanwhile out in the Lost Lagoon a swan is very busy wildly working on his feathers as if something is wrong with them. Of course his mate who is in a much different mindset turns her head to see her mate still fussing over himself and says.." I thought you had that fixed!"

Nice shot Don;
The composition is good with the swans slightly off centre and the horizon high in the frame. You can tell it's evening with the warm colors reflecting off the swans.
All the best,
- Dan

Hi Donald,
I like the portrait format here with the two swans in the foreground. The colours are lovely and the reflections too. Good to have the people midshot, it gives it scale. The swan on the right has got to be female....all that fussing and preening.....just like a woman!

Stephen
