Running the length of the downtown core is Vancouvers famous Robson Street.
Robson Street was named after John Robson, the Premier of British Colombia between 1889 and 1892. When railway tracks were laid adjacent to the street in 1895, shops of every variety began to emerge.
In the post World War II era, Robson Street evolved into 'Robsonstrasse', a reflection of the European shopkeepers who operated the many small delicatessens, patisseries, and chic boutiques that populated the street.
In modern times, as its popularity has soared, the character of Robson Street has continued to evolve. 'Robsonstrasse' has passed into history, but the eclectic mix of shops and restaurants has become even stronger and more appealing.
Always bustling and full of activity; Robson St. plays host to shopping, hotels and restaurants with numerous coffee shops and patios on which to people watch and enjoy the sun with friends.
This photo is taken from my hotel room on the 39th floor of the Landmark Hotel on Robson.

Just the right time of day for a shot like this, and a dramatic PoV for it too, nice work.

this picture is reallu beautifull, you are taller than these buildings to have caught such a view ;o). The composition is excellent by including this lighten up road. It looks like an arrow piercing the downtown. Good expo time.

A very pretty shot of Robson Street and the skyline of Vancouver. I have found Vancouver to have one of the prettiest and brightest skylines of any big city, and you have really captured it very well. My Mom is Canadian, and she would be proud of this photo!

Vancouver looks a little like HK. (No offense). I like the warm cold opposition, between the blue & yellow. A superb pov, with excellent sharpness, color, & lighting. Well done!

Good job Dan! What a view from your room!! Its certainly strange how tall buildings such as these can look so good. I think a lot of people would describe them as ugly at first glance, but theres always something about tall buildings that we cant help but like.
I like your exposure time as it shows us the lines from the car lights too, a really great touch!
Well done : )

Well, you really nailed this one. An amazingly clear shot which displays all the verve and vitality of this part of Vancouver. The exposure is just about right, as one is able to clearly focus on the different buildings. I like how the street slices through the frame at an angle. Great capture.

Excellent cityscape shot with perfect lighting and colours. Good use of slow shutter speed. The point of view and the composition are really great! Excellent work!

A fabulous city scene, caught just at the right moment between day and night. The details of the buildings are clearly visible but we also have the colourful streaks of the car lights. What a great view to have from your hotel room!

Look at all 'em condos! Vancouver has one of the oddest downtowns ever man. It's all condos!
Cool skyline shot, with nice use of slow shutter!

I was just out in Vancouver to visit family - and this shot takes me right back there. Oddly while walking on Robson on a Friday night I bumped into an old friend from Ottawa who was there visiting as well. Small world - great shot. Thanks.

Very nice picture you took of Downtown. Due to the angle the picture was taken the buildings look taller(or slimmer) than they are. This is a very different view of Vancouver than I knew before. Thanks for sharing.

I see you finally reached BC, I guess you must be happy to be home !
Nice bue hour shoot from your hotel room, very clear and showing lots of details, with the added value from the diagonal avenue well outlined by the traffic, nice view.
Have a nice day,

I must say I really do like this view from up here Dan. The angle that you took this from really brought an interesting perspective. I would have to agree with you that the higher you are the better and more interesting the results. Good results in this capture Dan!
