Vancouver has a surprisingly wide variety of microbreweries, where one can sample the local brews . Common to all these breweries is the sampler order in which one can order a variety of 3 to 7 drafts in small quantities to taste and compare. Even though I personally prefer the Yaletown brewery (with a 7 glass sampler), this picture shows the best known of all, the Granville Island brewery. The all glass restaurant lets you taste the produce with a clear view over the tanks and installation of the brewery itself.
The thing at Granville is that they serve only a 3 glass sampler and only one per person (I suppose they have made their share of bad experience with the many tourists in this spot). Luckily for me, my wife does not like beer at all, so she order her sample plus a apple juice and I had my 6 glass sampler. My favorite of this batch was the dark Guiness style brew while my least favorite definitely was the rasberry version.

What a tasteful and tempting picture. The beers have very nice colours and they are well presented - at the table and in the photo. A nice photo to start the weekend.

This is a feast for the eyes as well as the palate!
I'd love to try some of these interesting beers and I think I might just come to the same conclusion as yourself - I rather suspect I might like the dark stout best too.
A lovely shot with lots of fine colours and good lighting and straightforward composition. Good details and sharpness too. I see that someone else has a Nikon camera too!
This one, together with your fine note, has given me a thirst!

Hi Daniel, excellent photography of this beautiful, attractive appetizing beer tray (I like them all), very well captured in this image with a great frame, with good sharpness, light and color. Excellent and interesting job perfectly done, congratulations my friend. Thanks for sharing this beautiful work.
Good afternoon and happy Sunday.
All the best from southern Spain.

It looks like you had a great time in Vancouver :)
A very delicious looking set arranged according to the colours.
Also my preference goes out to the dark beer.
Best regards, Paul

I like the idea and the FG colors but to my mind, the BG could be better ;) the arm of the people is a little disturbing...
Nice shot though :)

Thanks a lot and have a beuatiful Sunday! Takero

These different beers, each with a different color, create a nice photo. It looks like a rainbow of beer. :-) It's also interesting to see a bit of the descriptions under each glass. It seems like this brewery gives out a lot of information - and a lot of samples! :-)

A colorful collection you have assembled here, and I'm sure it wasn't difficult to try each one?? :) I like this close-up approach, there's a lot of sharp detail and the depth of field gives this a visual similar to a print ad. Was it also a subtle advertisement for Nikon, as I see the camera in the blurred background? ha As the slogan on the glass suggests, it's good to be here...we get to enjoy this fine photo! A good angle taken, the perspective allows for some great dimension in regards to the shape and form of the glasses. Smart concept, I quite like this one! Have a great day ahead. Take care.

A very tasteful photo with splendid sharpness and colours. I guess the glass to the left would be my favourite, it definitely looks like an unfiltered wheat beer, am I right? Must have been a very nice experience here.

Its good to be here!!
Does your wife also loves photography or do you carry all the arsenal in your armory along with you?
There is a Nikon at the xtreme top-right corner which makes me ask this.
What a marketing tool the brew company has devised, I love this concept.
Food photography is the most difficult art in photography, but I think I shall also try seven glasses and may be this works.

What a cool idea to have a sampler selection, at least that way you find the one you like without having to drink a pint of something horrible. Imagine a pint of the raspberry one! Doesn't sound appealing. Beautfiul shot of the drinks, a perfectly advertisement for what sounds like a very cool brewery.
All the best

Excellent shot of these samples! You had decent light there to get clear result. It's good that you arranged biggest variety of colours in front. What comes to drinking order I think it's better to start from more usual ones.
I had a similar type tasting in May at Aegir Bryggeri.

Amazing collection of brews and colours! I'm glad you decided to take the photo before indulging in this tasting session! ;)
Have a nice evening

they look extremely attractive right now, when we still steam up under early september sun. even the colors are so different, i can only imagine the tastes. so far my favourite has been the strong belgian duvel. there maybe some better ones in vancouver, who knows...
macjake (66566) 2013-09-08 12:11
So I see you made it to Granville Island! Most tourists do! and locals for that matter!!
and i don't blame you for not really enjoying the red raspberry version, most guys dont. Not to sound sexist, but its more so advertised and geared for the ladies :)
and the fact your wife doesn't like beer is a bonus for you eh! haha
sounds like you had fun here, good times good times!
karacabeylis (1465) 2013-09-08 12:44
great composition that is giving a big intriguing impulse to take the way to the bar in the neigbourhood.

One of my favourite occupations! I know that Canada and the U.S. both have a "young tradition" of hand-crafted brewing. Your photograph makes the mouth water. What a lot of different styles and colours. You drank them all? I guess they're not as big as they look. I think I'd agree with you about the raspberry, though some Belgian fruit beers can be quite interesting...
mcmtanyel (21343) 2013-09-15 19:46
All that beer for me? You shouldn't have! I can't drink that much beer and stay awake, I've got quite a number of critiques to respond to before I sleep... Well, if you insist, but only one - I'll take the dark lager, thanks!
Hmm, this is a very tasty photo. I can almost smell the beer, it is so inviting. Nice job sneaking in that Nikon (Coolpix?) in the b/g.
EstudioChispa (2174) 2013-10-10 14:38
This foto belongs in a textbook about brewing! You have shown wonderfully the variations between the beers, and the colorful backdrop of the mat is fantastic.
Who's Nikon is in the background? ;-)
And let's raise a glass to our wives! Mine won't drink beer, either! The more for us! Unless it is a berry brew -- who's terrible idea was that?
All my best, Daniel!
