Photographer's Note

A laneway in the Gastown area of Vancouver with interesting paint fire escapes and a jumble of electrical stuff. The walls on the right have had at least 3 coats of red paint over the years with the latest possibly covering graffiti.

Hi Ian, So you were in Vancouver? have you met there our friend Craig? i like the shot with these fire stairs. Even the graffiti and all cables look attractive here. I like this shot very much.

living near area, I know this street well.
I have taken many photos walking down this alley aswell.
One must be careful at night, there are alot of drug addicts and prostitutes in these backstreets.

you show the red paint and the boarded up windows very well. same with all the wires and stair cases.

What a great street scene. I love the grunge and the strong colours. The vertical frame works well and the light has been handled magnificently. So you didn't catch up with our favourite Vancouverian Craig? What a pity.
