Its hard to find Art Deco buildings in Vancouver, i'm sure alot of cities in Europe have them, but not here.
This is the Sun Tower, located in the historic DownTown EastSide of Vancouver - the seedy, low income area that can be a bit unsafe at times. I had my tripod out, and I had alot of people staring, but luckily nobody approached me.
I will post a WS photo of the Sun Tower, a beautiful building, and perhaps you may recognize it as it's popped up in some of my other city shots of Vancouver.
Thanks for looking

ottimo il taglio che inquadra e mostra perfettamente lo stile architettonico della luce.
Immagine ben chiara con i particolari ben evidenziati,

A lot of the old buildings in Brisbane Australia were bull-dozed for new soul-less highrise in the 70's. There are still a few left though & this looks to be in a similar vein. Good upward pov & the blue tints contrast subtly against the reddish tones in the stone facade of the old building. The 2 female decorated carvings add interest. Tfs!

immaculate and beautiful detail in this wonderful shot. Love Art Deco and this is an exquisite exeample captured perfectly. The textures here are so delicious, did you HDR this? If so, the effect is sublime.
Regards - Brian.

Two excellent photographs for the price of one but this one really is the star of the show!
Brilliant and subtle HDR work has done its usual magic for this picture giving lovely soft lighting and yet still excellent contrasts which "model" the subject perfectly. The slightly oblique viewpoint and composition are very appealing and I love the almost milky reflections in the windows.
P.S. I was really fascinated by your discussion on the forum with Silvio and was interested in the fact that blues and greens appear overaturated compared to reds during HDR work. Good to bear in mind if I go down that road. And, Gee, what a surprise that Silvio should post an HDR picture, eh? Hee, hee.

J'aime bien ce plan serré sur une partie de cette belle construction. Les détails sont très nets et j'apprécie surtout la texture de l'image.

Thank you for not going overboard with the HDR here, I am able to enjoy and see the natural look of this building. Well framed and presented Craig, and all with great clarity.

Good frame and colors.

C'est certainement sur les photos d'architecture que le HDR produit les meilleures images....même si j'ai toujours un peu de mal à accrocher à cette technique (j'ai surtout du mal à la maitriser -)). Le résultat est assez plaisant ici.

Very attractive facade. It's good to have and keep those old structures. Well taken, enjoy the day.

Like you, I love Arte Deco and here you've photographed it extremely well - even if it is in that confounded HDR :) Seriously though, I think hyou did this subtly enough and it brought out the details nicely. I like the predominance of the different brown tones and those gorgeous scultpures above the window. They don't make architecture like that any more, do they?
Have a lovely day, are you still on holidays?
