Photographer's Note

Another subject I've been wanting to photograph in Vancouver.

I will post another photo soon, so you can see the entire sculpture, and get a sense of just how large they are. Each of these men stand approx 10 feet tall.

There are 14 men in total, all displaying funny, smiling faces and hand gestures.

Here we have a close up view, taken at night, during a 20 second long exposure.

each statue is made out of bronzed metal, and the Chinese artist wanted to show the world a positive message with the universal sign of human laughter :)

Good Morning Craig,

This is excellent.
I love to see a narrow dof where the focal image is as sharp as a pin and the oof b/g provides an unobtrusive context fof the shot. The textural details define the form of the sculpture really well.
Your pov is spot on, giving a right to left diagonal movement across the frame.

The right choice of exposure parameters and exposure time was effective. The quality is excellent. The framing is spectacular. The close-up view shows sharp detail and interesting. Bravo.

Hello Craig,

This is another fine example of your wonderfully subtle and painstaking HDR work. We can see the sheen on the bronze perfectly in this amazing statue which appears almost to be mocking the viewer.

Beautiful colours, perfect exposure and light and, as always, stunning detail and sharpness.

I love bronze art work like this, and you've captured it perfectly. Excellent light management and exposure, with superb Clarity. I read a lot of your critiques on HDR and hopefully learn the basic before going out and spending the money, but what wonderful fun and rewarding outcomes I've seen from your work.
