Photographer’s Note
This is a view from the beach between Kitsilano Beach and Vanier Park in Vancouver, Canada.
About this photo: We've had some some great weather in September and the last weekend was really beautiful so we went down to Kitsilano Beach for a walk and to enjoy the sunset. It was a wonderful evening and the sunset was quite beautiful. Of course I brought my camera with me to take some photos as well. This photo was taken from the more rocky beach between Kitsilano Beach and Vanier Park overlooking English Bay and the mountains.

Some information of Kitsilano Beach: Some information on Kitsilano Beach: Kitsilano Beach is one of the most popular beaches in Vancouver, especially in the summer months. From the beach you have amazing views over the mountains, English Bay (an inlet/bay of the Pacific Ocean) and downtown Vancouver. The beach is home to a salt water outdoor heated swimming pool which is the longest pool in Canada. This beach is great for a walk any time of the year. You can walk towards Vanier Park or Jericho Beach from here.
Some information Vancouver: Vancouver is known as one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Vancouver is Canada's third largest city and is located by the Pacific Ocean on a peninsula surrounded by water and in the distance there are the mountains. Vancouver is considered a pretty clean and safe city with a great variety of shops, museums, theatre, outdoor activities (hiking, walking, kayaking, sailing, skiing on the local mountains in the winter) and more. Walking around Stanley Park is a favourite thing to do for tourist and locals alike. This beautiful park extends from the city centre of Vancouver almost to the North Shore. With wonderful views of the mountains and the ocean around every corner, downtown Vancouver is one of the most picturesque cities in the world. Walk along Robson Street, the most popular shopping street. Experience Chinatown with the different kinds of building and stores, walk on the beaches of English Bay and the seawall of Stanley Park, enjoy a walk in Gastown with the old steam clock and the many gift shops.
Look out for some Hollywood film sets as Vancouver is used for many big Hollywood movies and shows. That's why you might hear that Vancouver is called "Hollywood North". Here are some examples of shows and movies that were/are filmed here: "The X-Files", "Dark Angel", "Stargate-SG1", "The 6th Day", "Kiss of the Dragon", "Small Ville" and many more. Then there is also the Canada Place, the stadiums, the Harbour Lookout, the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden, Science World, the Vancouver Art Gallery and much more! All of these attractions are located within minutes from the city centre.
Vancouver is also popular in the winter for winter activities. There are 3 local mountains where you can do any type of winter sport. There is Grouse Mountain, most famous for it's stunning views over the city and fresh powder snow. Grouse Mountain is accessible by skyride...this is a big airtram that will take you up to the top of the mountain. Mount Seymour and Cypress Mountain are famous too and you also get wonderful views from the top of these mountains. As you can see...Vancouver has lots to offer.

Hi Goodmorning Ann
Nice to see you here again on TE!
Thanks for your last critique.
Its funny, i have almost the exact same photo in my gallery, i'm not sure if i posted it, but i have it at home on my laptop.
Its always fun to try the longer exposures, to get that wispy water fog look around the rocks.
You have a perfect sunset as well.
Very beautiful photo all around.
Guess i'll see you tomorrow on TE too!
Thanks
Craig

Très belle image artistique et originale. J'aime beaucoup les roches au premier plan qui donnent une belle profondeur à l'image.

Hi Ann,
Long time no see.
Lovely shot, I like the sheen on the foreground rocks and the wispy look you've got on the water with the long exposure.
Gorgeous colour in the sky too.
Very pretty shot.

Hi Ann
The motion blur of the water is superb, and gives this image the look of a high mountain, overlooking a fog shrouded valley. Splendid sunset colors of orange/magenta, with nice graphism & silhouettes. Tfs!

Hi Ann,
The use of a slow exposure time of 6 seconds is giving a nice image. Did you use a tripod also? The sunset is givinhg nice colors to the sky and the water. the point of view leads our eyyes toward the mountains which is giving depth to the composition. The rocks in the foreground are clear and sharp. Well done, have a nice day.

Welcome back Ann, I've missed you. Hope the renovations went to plan. This type of composition is my favourite. The light on the rocks combined with the silky water is just magical. It gives it a real prehistoric feel. And as usual your depth is First Class. TFS and I look forward to seeing more, Lisa.

Hello Ann,
Beautiful shot, love the exposure with a slow shutter speed, give the water a very smooth texture, and the dark silhouette of the rock with shinny outline stand out weel against the soft glow of the water. Good DoF with the city skyline and distant mountain well in focus. Lovely and rich color without overly saturated. Thanks.
Way
