This is the "down-side" of a sub-zero inversion similar to my last posting, but from below. The clouds form ice crystals in suspension, creating air-borne shadows. Makes for a surreal effect if the sun makes it through...

I'm quite surprised that nobody commented your picture before...
The light is beautiful above this forest ; the presence of the moon and the misty light create a very moody picture.

I kinda like this, neat abstract look with the fog and the pine trees, and the Sun that looks like moon. Very dreamy :)
