Photographer's Note
This is Levette Lake near Squamish, north of Vancouver. The lake is on a small plateau across the Squamish River from the mighty Tantalus Range, seen in the background. You can get here by 4 wheel drive, or by walking along the Copperbush Trail or the Skyline Trail, although yu have to walk the last section along the dirt road.
There are several guides to this walk on the internet: they mention that the lake is good for swimming and fishing, but don't say anything of the view. I guess great views are taken for granted in British Columbia. In my opinion the view is among the best anywhere in the Squamish-Whistler area, and rivals anything in the Rockies. You don't see the view until the last minute when you step out of the forest onto the lake shore, and it just about knocks you off your feet. There are some holiday houses on the opposite lake shore, hidden in the forest. Nice place to spend a few days or weeks.
Scanned from a slide. Polariser used. I applied a contrast mask in Photoshop to lighten up the darker areas. I also cropped the botttom of the photo to give a widescreen effect.
