Climbing to Stanley Glacier, a photo from British Columbia, Western

Photographer's Note

These people are just reaching the end of the climb up Stanley Glacier Trail. The round trip is slightly over 10km with an elevation gain of about 500m. The hike passes through burned out forest, mature forest, glacial till and waterfalls.

A terrific photo. A good composition which describes clearly the heights and hazards of the trail. The persons standing on the ridge of the rock play a role that is far greater than their relative size. Very good colors and clarity.

An interesting experiment of scale and perspective here. The people are totally surrounded by massive rocks and ice. I like how it displays the dynamic processes of the earth in progress. Nice vertical format, shows height and allows for a bit of foreground too.
