"Kicking Horse River" Photo

Photographer’s Note

En route to Takakkaw Falls the road passes by an area where the Kicking Horse and Yoho Rivers merge called the 'Meeting-of-the-Waters' Viewpoint. Unfortunately the angle at the actual area where they merge was quite contrasty, so I opted to post this shot a bit further upstream Kicking Horse RIver.

Good capture of the Kicking Horse River. I like your point of view.....up close, so we can really get a feel for the rapids. The texture of the water is great, and all the colors are perfectly natural. Beautiful clarity and focus. Nice work! cheers,

Hi Dan--What, no bears?

We're neighbors in the gallery today. This is a pretty scene, but honestly I don't think it's one of your better ones. Nicely composed, done with great competency, but no special light and not much to make it stand out from lots of other pictures of rivers in the woods. NIce clouds, though. Regards, Ken.

Hi Dan:

Not a bad shot of the Kicking Horse. Well composed, although perhaps a bit wider angle to include more of the surrounding mountains would be nice as well. Those clouds add a nice touch.

Hi Dan,

I really like this hot because is very typical of the Rockies. The intense blue sky as background is excellent for this scene. This area of the Rockies is definitely pretty, though a bit touristy lately. Nice sharpness and natural colours. Really nice shot Dan! Thanks :-)
