Waterfall Hike Photo

Photographer’s Note

Another shot of Lake O'Hara. This time cropped to emphasize the waterfall that helps feed the lake. There is a hike around the lake that we did not have time to do ourselves. Next time I guess. You can just make out some people heading along the trail in the lower left of the image.

You’ve captured a truly lovely corner of the world here for us, Phil. I like the way you’ve chosen this point of view to accentuate the waterfall — sheer are the cliffs that surround this lake! It’s a good perspective, too, to show us the full depth of the image, the backdrop against which the lake is nestled. Good sharpness and clarity, too. Well done!

This must be a nice place.From what I see right here...it is.
I do like the view you show us today,a nice composition,a clear shot.Those trees standing tall like some soldiers around the lake.

Hi, Phil -

I admit I didn't see the waterfall until I read the note and hunted it up. It's a bit subtle. And in any case the overall scene is beautiful enough, waterfall or no. Nice balance of the cliff on the left (the strong side) with the grove of trees on the right.

Hello Phil,
A very beautiful nature picture. Specially beautiful here are all those tall trees that grow everywhere: on that island (or peninsula), on the hill and on the rocks. The colours are beautiful and the hikers give us an idea of the size of it all.

Wonderful textured details to this steep hillside with its lush evergreen turning the glass like surface to a lovely turquoise hue that contrast nicely with the silver ot the shear rock.
Excellent clarity and sharpness to this beautiful landscape.

The light is excellent here, and for me this is so typically North America (continent) There are some lovely reflections in the still water and the V formation of the fir trees is an excellent feature of the scene. I must admit that I had to look hard for the waterfall which isn't so evident at this size. I would love to see the original. you should mount it for your wall. :D
