A familiar shot of this lake which is located in Yoho National Park. It is not as striking as Alvin's shot after a fresh snowfall (see Cormac) but I did manage to get a couple of decent shots here. The sun was trying to come out but it was showering as well so a lot of my shots featured raindrops on the lens.
Enjoy.

Hi Phil,
Nice shot of Lake O'Hara. Sure, ideal conditions might have given you more options, but I've been around this stuff long enough to appreciate every type of weather and I do find that most conditions render good images, just different. Great work phil, and TFS. Gerald

Very nice shot, and beautiful place. Good encadrage, great colours, really nice. Regards,

Maria

Hi Phil,
This really is a beautiful location, I remember Alvin's shot. The turquoise green water here is wonderful with the reflections of the spruce(?) trees.
The low viewpoint is effective but I wonder whether you might have made more of the water by shooting from slightly higher up (of course that's easy for me to say not having been there!).
Looks like you caught a good moment with the sun coming out but the mountains nicely wrapped in cloud.
John

Hi Phil,

wonderful scene, makes me a wish to visit the place. Also the mountains seem just the right stuff for trekking. The trees in the water are awesome. Perhaps you could get more out of the clouds with contrast masking.

Hey, I know this place! One of my favourite spots to photograph, and a place I never get tired of seeing. In this shot we can see the amazing green colour of the water, the towering mountains and those interesting cabins that add so much to the scene. I'm glad to see other people out exploring this incredible area. Nice work!

Hi Phil,
Wonderful mountain landscape with the deep green lake catching the lighter green reflection of the alpine timber. Beautiful contrast of the shallow water brown and the emerald green lake. The snow capped cloud bound mountains make a lovely background to this great nature photo.

Hello Phil,
Nice picture with superb colors and a great DOF.The color of the water is really fantastic.Well done!
Alain

Hello Phil,
Beautiful horizontal perspective. I like the details of the foreground with clear stillness of the water. The trees and mountains are just stunning against the sky.
Well done for a superb composition.
Regards,
Jusni

Phil,
the potential of this place with its breathtaking beauty could have been probably explored better with the use of a polarizing filter. The light reflections on the stones and water in the foreground really diminuishes the impact of your photography. Now don't tell me that you used that filter - at least I don't see it in your gear data.
I most likely will be there next August ... can't wait!

Hi Phil, I don't think the weather hindered you from taking
a very scenic shot with great contrasts of color, those mountains look pretty strong in their nearly black starkness.

Ron

Hello Phil
Great view and great blue-green water in that lake. The red little huts on the right and the trunks in the lake are two good elements in the picture. The point of view is perfect and details too.
Well done Phil
Best regards
Denis!

Hello Phil,

You took this image very low this gives a very great depth, about the lake toward the direction of the mountains in background.
Also the fog above the top of the mountains care for a nice and attractive picture.
Thanks for sharing.

Have a nice day,
John.

I'm amazed you could get such a wonderful image in what seems to be very inclement weather. The colour of the lake is stunning with some wonderful reflections. Excellent shot. I'd better go and look at Alvin's to see what better weather provides.

Hej Phil,
Very nice photo of this lake, which is beautifully surrounded by trees and mountains. I like your low POV with the inclusion of the stones in the foreground. Good work, thanks for sharing!

Lars

Hey, Phil,
I love those colors. That water is just amazing. The rocks in the foreground are a nice touch and the clouds clinging to those mountaintops are wonderful! Nice clarity and detail for such gloomy weather. Well done!! Thanks and have a good one!!

Wow Phil, what a place. The vastness comes across well as the eye goes from the rocks in the foreground, over the emerald water and then sors towards the cloud covered peaks. Considering the conditions, you managed to capture lovely light on the water. Bravo on this inspiring shot. Klaudio.

Beautiful one with so great colours despite the bad weather. I love the variety of greens and he transparency of the water in the foreground. A great image.

:) tomorrow

Nice, sharp foreground. I love the color progression from brown to green in the water. Maybe have moved the camera to the left a little bit to get that really cool brown-rust colored rock in the center of the frame?

In the water, are those tree trunks all scattered about?

Its a beautiful shot of the lake. Rocks in the FG, reflections in the greenish water and misty sky all make for an enjoyable scene.

Hola Phil,
Precioso paisaje, me encanta ese verde turquesa del agua que parece hacer un degradado hasta llegar al cielo. Un lugar paradisíaco. Excelente profundidad con muy buenos colores, contrastes y resolución.
Felicitaciones!!!
Cordialmente
Charo
