Photographer’s Note
Early morning at Emerald Lake in Yoho National Park. These fellows paddled into the scene at just the right time.

Hi Phil,
Yes, you were really lucky to get this red boat inside the motive. It would have been a very beautiful photo even without them, but they give some life to the picture. A fantastic landscape!

Hi Phil,
a splendid composition of a great view, maybe just a bit more of the sky might have been fine. The red boat is a nice additon. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Phil,
What a view, what a wonderful landscape. The red boat is really good how you captured this. It really brings something extra in the photo.
Only thing is that you should buy and use a polariser filter which brings you a deeper blue sky and elminates some haze.

Hola,
Ah! you live in Switzerland? ;-) great landscape, and the two men on the boat gives the dimension of this lack and mounatins.
Great!

Oh, my gosh.
This one just about leaves me speechless. I have never seen such mountains as those. Wonderful composition with the near mountain covered in pines and the far one catching that great light. The colors are just stunning and I love the bright splash of color from the boat and the guys jacket. This is a marvelous shot!! Thanks and kind regards,
Shelly

Great shot of this magnificent place! The lake has an incredible colour, and I like the way you included the people in the canoe, which gives this some scale and a human element. The mountains looks massive next to the people. Excellent!

Phil,
this is almost a classic shot for any alpine lake that has similar colors as the Emerald Lake has. That red boat is exactly what is needed to make this shot work, although I would have placed it a little bit more to the left respecting more the 1/3 rule. Anyway, the picture is beautiful and I like it as it is. A polarizing filter seems almost mandatory for this shot to enhance the colors and decrease the slight haziness present.

Careful composition, superb contrast
and true colours are immediatelly recognizible
here, Phil!
The whole scene is invigorating and I can almost
hear nothing but silence broken by their
paddling...
Cheers,
Robi

Hi Phil,
This spectacular landscape alone would already be a 1s class subject for a beautiful nature image but having the strongly contrasting red canoe move into the frame is really a definite plus to add activity to the scene and make the mountains look even bigger.
Have a nice week end JY

Hi Phil,
Stunning capture of this prestine mountain landscape. The slate blue snow capped peaks make a wonderful color contrast to the lush green hillside that make a very peaceful reflection in the calm turquoise waters of the deep cold Canadian lake.

Beautiful landscape and the red boat adds just the right touch of both life and colour.

The red boat simply makes this photo. While there is no doubt that it is a beautiful photo without it, it adds that colour and point of interest to make a good photo, a great one.

Hi Phil!
This is really Canada: Beautiful and unique landscape. Very beautiful composition with those people in the little red boat. It contrasts so well with all the nature around, the colour and the size. Colours are great!

Hi Phil,
This popped up in random and I couldn't resist the glowing beauty of the lake with it's classic Rocky Mountain framing of evergreen-clad slopes, granite mountains and blue sky with cloud puffs. The red canoe is a real bonus.
