This photo I took just over an hour ago while I was up town in Chilliwack. Pulling over to the side of the road on an overpass I took a quick minute to capture some photos of this cloud that suspended itself on Elk Mountain while the setting sunlight filled the surrounding mountains with beautiful color displays.
We had rain this morning and the weather overall this summer in BC has been lacking sunny days to say the least. But I have to say I love living here when I get the chance to capture moments like this while the day comes to an end. One full f stop underexposed to capture this scene and taken hand held at ISO 400. Enjoy!

Wow, am I glad you were there at the exact right light moment - this shot is spectacular! The colors are absolutely stunning and yes again to the privilege we have of living in this beautiful part of the world - I am glad that nature is always full of surprises. TFS. Gerald

Yes, there is a bit of noise, in fact, rather a lot considering it's ISO 400. Nothing that can't be cleaned up, though. Very nice capture, great light and good lines!

It's a very colored shot you captured here. Otherwise I think you increase contrast and luminosity a little bit too much and the noise is visible on the picture especially on the sky. Perhaps you shout clean it wit a software like Neatimage.
Have a nice day

There is some noise on the image. The cloud is amazing. It looks very good suspended over the mountain. Good colours and light to compose the image. The time of the day gave you a nice warm light. Seem like a beautiful place for enjoing nature and taking pictures. Thanks Paul.

I still believe that catching the right moment and holding the seconds from ticking are what matters most. I admired the effort you took to click this lovely and striking scene. I am sure the satisfation outweighs the bit of noise now that I have a chance to enjoy it. Well done!!
All the best.

Because I cannot spare enough time for TE, I am missing a lot of pictures. I wish I could. Here is picture we are not used to see very often. An incredible cloud which looks as if it is burning: Good combination of orange with the deep blue : I also like the way the cloud seems to sleeping on the mountain.
Keep well - Izzet

An entirely surrealistic image, with that red cloud hovering over the hilltop . I see it was shot and posted exactly a month ago. By now, British Columbia must be showing the colors of Fall, and I look forward to seeing some of your posts from that suburb of paradise. Warm regards and have a good weekend,
