Well I thought I had better start posting some photos seeing I have been quite absent from this site for some time. The spring has brought its own beauty to the Fraser Valley in the last two weeks. Blossoms are everywhere.
I thought I would put this photo in the decisive moment category because of the timing element in taking this photo. This shot was taken around 6 pm this evening when the sun was low on the horizon. I was about to head to the store to pick up a few items and when I saw the clouds suspended over the Mt Cheam range I thought I had better turn east towards this view to see what photo opportunity availed my way. I only had an intention to capture a few mountain zoom shots but came across this partial flooded field and composed this wide angle view instead. The clouds are of particular beauty with the sunlight creating a full body effect here. Having fun shooting with the Xti. He He He...enjoy!

Hello Paul -
Well, it was a good thing you turned around because you have captured an appealing image. You are so right the clouds hanging on the mountains are nice but the reflection is just grand. Spring is finally sprouting here in Colorado after a rough first quarter. Well done!
As the airmen always say, "always check your six", you never know what you will see sometimes it is better than what you were looking at.
Thank you for sharing.

Wow, what a come back! ;-) This is a fantastic photo with the flooded field in the foreground causing these amazing reflections. The colours are great as well as the quality and I love the view. Fantastic work, Paul! Keep them coming with your Xti, I hope you are enjoying your new camera!

This is beautiful photo of a wonderful landscape. The special light here emphasizes this impression and especially the colours. I like the obviously clean air!
Greetings from springlike Germany!

Une superbe lumière et un cadrage idéal pour ce magnifique paysage.La différence est aussi apportée par ces très beaux reflets en premier plan.

What a great shot. The heavy rains and resulting lakes did make for interesting scenes in the valley. I like the POV, the colors, and your high standard of clarity and presentation. Welcome back and thanks for sharing. Gerald

Nice shot. What's a beautiful cloudy sky on the BG. NIce reflection. It's always good to see Spring coming. A great feeling of green.

I'm happy to see you again on TE... with a new camera. As usual your landscape is outstanding, above all as far as sharpness is concerned. I can imagine that, beside a clear day, you had to postprocess it a bit (the 17-85 is good but it is not an L lens). Anyway the result is very very pleasant. Congratulations, Dario

Lovely shot, Paul. And under-rated if you ask me. The reflection of course is marvellous, but so is that slightly angled strip of green crop of something or other, and the resulting perspective effect as it draws the eye to the trees and yellow house on the right. Nice sky, superb sense of space and distance here. Great shot.

Sorry for the delays in getting around to your latest offerings from your new toy. As you know I've been a bit pre-occupied with my own new Apple toy!
Great reflections you've captured off the water. I really like the clouds and the detail you've managed. For composition- I might be tempted to crop a bit off the top with this image. Cutting down on a bit of the excess blue (I feel).
Just a personal preference on an otherwise great shot mate.
All the best Paul!

Been busy myself with too much work lately...Here you make good use of both the wide angle and the fine lighting. It appears to me that your Xti is giving you slightly better sharpness. I like both the reflections and the dramatic effect of the clouds bunching up over the mountains. Have a very happy Easter holiday weekend, Paul.

This is a wonderful shot. I would have been quite pleased if this was one of mine..hehe. Certainly now that spring is here in Canada, there seems to be more opportunities for such photos. Still it takes skill, and effort, and I supppose in my case at least, some luck..haha. take care, cheers from the Okanagan.
