With alot of mist in the Valley I headed to the Wetlands where I captured this view across the pond. An interesting set of footprints along the ice shows the many ducks and geese are active here all year long.
In the distance the row of trees in the fog fill the rear of the frame, while the sky above bring evidence of the winter months. All is calm and all is well.

nice shot. Just an opinion, but is the foreground on the left side a bit messy?
dmarizz (2796) 2006-12-30 16:23
to be very clear I must use my mother tongue: CHE BELLA! (HOW BEAUTIFUL!). I can imagine how clean had to be the atmosphere to get such a picture. The very pale colours fit perfectly with the title. I envy your shots... and your surroundings. Dario
Happy 2007 from Italy.

Hello Paul -
This is one cold image. This could easily be misinterpreted as a B&W image. The bird prints are one of the first things my eye latched on to when the image opened. A very subtle leading line into the image. Well done.
Thank you for sharing and Happy New Years.

Bonsoir, mon ami Paul,

I can fill the cold from this picture:)
Great shot and looks like no one is complaining about lack of blue sky.

the starkness ... the fog .. the reflection .. I dream of taking this image .. maybe taking it next to a warm
fire : )
.. I really like the framing of the vegetation .. but maybe half as much or it. .. I love the way the tracks just seem to end.
take care and happy new year.

Hi Paul. I like the sky and the extra bit of drama it adds. The light looks a bit dim here but we can see the details just fine. As always reflections are nice and beautiful bonus. Happy New Year Paul!

This is a winter painting out of Chilliwack, this do me thinks at my child period on the farm of my parents, around a lake and winter scenes, I like the composition and the gray colours in this picture. Very well done, fine work here!
Happy new year.
Have a nice day,

Aha! Here I see one of my favorite kinds of shots... low contrast. This site is so full of oversaturated and oversharpened shots, when to me these are the harder shots to capture sometimes. This is subtle and moody, and I like it very much. The bushes on the side give a little shadow and sharpness to break up the "quietness" of the rest of the frame. The footprints make a difference, too.
Happy New Year Paul!

You never told me where you lived and how close you are to these great landscapes which make all of us so excited every time we see them. Here you can feel the gray winter and I almost feel the cold too. Funny I can also hear the wind now at home, it's a holiday and I am resting during this long period of rest.
Good rendering - best and friendly regards - Izzet
