Well Greetings from the Fraser Valley this Christmas Season. A fitting photo for Christmas featuring and old farm house setting photo that I took when we had a cold spell last November. I love wonderful clear days like this where the snow covered mountians grace the view of the valley. Speaking of mountians filled with snow... let me tell you a story.
On the afternoon that I took this photo, a friend of mine was hiking up Elk Ridge in his snow shoes. He shared with me what the view looked like from up there while I was enjoying the view from down below. I have been thinking of hiking some mountian trails in the winter season this year. In the workshop you can see the view from Elk Ridge on the same day.
Thank you for all your kind comments this year. Its been a real pleasure to learn a little more about seeing life through the viewfinder, and a real joy to share it with others. So may the peace and joy of this Christmas Season be a blessing in your life. And of course.. cheers!!!

Paul, I enjoy this picture. It is sharp, focused and nicely balanced. It has a great backdrop and the shadows of the trees against the house give it a sense of time of day. A useful note as well. Merry xmas!

Wonderful soft light and shadows .. it is really striking the way the peaks are softer than the sharp lines of the house .. beautiful image .. tfs.

Lights are great in your frame. I like the house a lot with its yellow façade and green roof. Especially brick chimneys are seems ready for Santa’s presents. Snowy ground and mountains are beautiful. Excellent works, congratulations.
I wish Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year to you and your family.

Merry Christmas to you. Wonderful mountains and snow. I like the way the sun shines at the house. The setting of the house against the mountains which is well defined in this image is just great. I would love to live in this house. Latiff.

Wonderful light here in a beautiful composition. The way you composed this with the long shadows and the warm tones in the house and the more cold ones on the mountain are just perfect.
It must be great living there, everyday a photo opportunity.
Have a nice Christmas, Henk

Merry Christmas Paul -
This is a very country image and pleasing to look at even though it is cold outside. This could be your Christmas Card next year with a holly boarder added. Excellent composition, exposure, etc, etc. Well done!
Thank you for sharing

The light is so wonderful here and so are all the scattered spots, mountains, trees are buildings. It's like a puzzle where everything seems to fall in it's right place.
Best - Izzet

Another superbly lit shot, beautifully cropped and presented. The crispness of the mountains, the low slanting light, the tonality of everything in the picture - an absolute delight. And what a spot to be in.

A perfectly chosen greeting postcard. Everything perfect about this, the light, the composition, even the framing.
Best Wishes for the New Year

The light and composition act in concert to produce a sensational image. Indeed, this is such a timely photo for this time of year — a double-matted, and finished painting ready to hang. Season's Greetings and a Happy, Healthy New Year to you and yours,

Great shot Paul! You are so lucky that you have snow out there, and can get these Christmas type shots - in Vancouver it's pretty soggy and dull. Great light in this, and I like the house in front of the mountains, which really makes this a beautiful scene. Excellent!

Beautiful picture with very good light and sharpness, your composition with the house off center and the city on the valley plus those impressive mountains is superb. Good point of view and nice note.
Happy New Year for you and your family and wish that 2007 will bring you health, peace and prosperity.

You certainly took good advantage of the shooting conditions on that memorable November day in the Valley...I like the lighting here and the way you have framed this, with the traditional farmhouse bathing in the sun and the pristine mountains in the distance. Mt. Slesse is clearly seen and appreciated here. All the best in the New Year, Paul. I chuckled upon reading that you bought some snowshoes...
