Well yesterday morning I managed to capture this snow covered mountian at Peg Leg at the Fraser River. I loved how the clouds came through and sunlight highlights graced the lower part of the frame. It seems winter has finally come to the Fraser Valley. I hope you can enjoy this winter weather wherever you may be!

This is Winter Beauty, isn't it? I see that you are still enjoying the play with lights & shadows, to our greatest pleasure! Very impressive mountains, I like their smooth forms. The snow on the trees gives a completely different feel. I like the mix of the bottom part, golden/brown, and the gray and colder feel of the biggest part of your photo. And of course, the clouds is the icing on the cake! I want snow!!!
Good one Paul!

Your 70-200 lens continues to work wonders. The drama here is well caught, with superb contrast between the silhouetted forest and brightly lit slopes. Then there are more subtle shadows as the eye travels upward, culminating in the magnificent clouds. Very fine work, Paul. Have a good week.

Hi Paul, great shot love the clouds going over the peak, a superb view with excellent lighting on the mountains, however a little dark at the base of the photo, still a nice piece of work, kind regards Wilson.

The snow over the mountains is always amazing. Here, with this very good sharpen in the trees and the shade given by the clouds is absolutely beautiful, spectacular. The image quality let us feel almost to be here, I know it's only an impression, because to be there must be unbelievable. Your shot is a truly great job! Thanks,

Again, I am glad to see another beautiful scenery from you. Too many good things have been said about this photo and I can't day anything more but to agree with all the wonderful words about this photo.
Guess I just have to enjoy winter through your photo :-)

"There's snow in them there mountains..."
Ah snow..... I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!
18 days to go...
Although I'm not sure how long it'll last with the sun shining on it like that. Good exposure with good detail.
All the best Pauly!

Hi Paul. I love the sharpness in the trees as well as the clarity. You had both a good light and sky. This is a good application for that lens as well. Beautiful snowy shot Paul!

Excellent shot of this beautiful area! I love the look of the fresh snow on the mountains and the sun lighting this whole scene up! Great composition and great sharpness. Excellent work, Paul!

Very nice shot. I love these mountains. Especially when covered with snow (unlike our streets. I wonder if we can go to work tomorrow?)
jjcordier (70505) 2006-11-27 2:08
J'aime beaucoup les nuages qui s'accrochent à cette montagne recouverte par ces premières neiges qui donnent un aspect très curieux à la forêt....un peu moins le premier plan très sombre.
riclopes (35577) 2006-11-27 4:53
Oh yes I enjoy it very much Paul! The combination of clouds and blue sky, along with that sunny area in the middle is really impressive. Also nice your dark framing with the trees in foreground. A very attractive view for my eyes!
macondo (18467) 2006-11-27 7:17
Marvellous sharpness of detail here, Paul. What a scene you've captured. Beautiful the way the sun is shining on the lower slope, below that cloud cover on the peaks. I think I detect some autumn colouring at the bottom but it's a little dark. Apart from that, it's another really fine landscape, well composed and framed.
Cormac (26545) 2006-11-27 11:12
I really like the light in this, which acts like a spotlight on the mountainside. Incredible detail too, with the individual trees clearly distinguishable. Well done!

I haven't been so lucky yet. For that matter I don't think my winters will ever look like this. Incredible Paul. The clouds look like steam rising from the fur of some great beast. The highlights between dark and light are superb and your exposure is spot on. you live in a beautiful place. Each time I see a new photo of yours I find myself wanting to come and see for myself more and more.
PixelTerror (0) 2006-11-28 4:24
Alvin told me about the snow in the area, now I can find the confirmation on your photo, it's lovely as with every picture of freshly fallen snow hanging on the trees, shooting at clearing time is also a great idea to have a mix of shades and lights, it looks good ! I have to say I'm more than a little envious, here still no snowflake in sight :-(
Have a nice day,
rajhema (1903) 2006-11-28 19:58
That moment is refreshing and then the pain starts after changing weather wears off the roads and sleet makes tough driving. But as long as you stand in front of a rich nature like this, Winter is a gorgeous time. I do like winter Paul. Only time I don't is when I get sick and had to go to work in the cold.
keribar (43841) 2006-12-02 6:52
Like many other TE viewers I am also a fan of this one, which offers a great landscape, kind of a combination of all the beauties nature can offer, and with a great light too.
Hurrah ! - Izzet
