With a shallow depth of field I managed to throw all details in the maple tree row into a blur in order to highlight the details of this maple branch capturing some backlight. Another capture for my fall color theme. I think the leaves are almost completely fallen here in BC other than a few more stubborn maples, who refuse to give in for winter. Ah the last few days of fall. What a wonderful season it has been. Enjoy!

Nice work--i really like your DOF work on this one. You nailed the focus on the nearest leaf, and also positioned it in the position of greatest contrast to the background. Very well thought out and organized piece.

Nice shot Paul;
The leaves are well presented against the bokeh. I prefer this shot to the others in that the backdrop is nicely lit. Very intricate frame.
Nice work Paul.
(P.S.- the branch could be a bit more 'level' here... ;-p )

Hi Paul. Great capture. The backlight has really worked a treat here, it has given the stalk a highlight along its top edge which makes for a 3D effect. Well spotted and thanks for sharing.

Le bas de l'image est splendide avec des couleurs extraordinaires. Je suis un peu gèné par la tache blanche trop grande en haut.

Hello dear Paul,
with one word: breathtaking.
A very fine way of shooting these maple leaves. The shallow dof and the backlighting again works wonders.
Good night from Ottawa,
PS Will bring back a green smiley
