This is the scene at Cathedral Grove on Vancouver Island, near Parksville.
Many trees were toppled by last winter's winds, including this cedar which snapped at the trunk instead of being pulled out of the ground. This may have been due to rot in the trunk, as the dampness promotes serious fungal activity.

This green color here is very amazing. I think perhaps this composition could be better if the fallen tree were given a more prominent role. Also, photo seems to be a little soft. Nonetheless, great shot, thanks for sharing!
