Bowen Island in Howe Sound is part of the Greater Vancouver Regional District, about 2 km west of the mainland. It is served by regular ferry service from Horseshoe Bay. The island has a land area of 49.94 km2 (19.28 sq mi).
I was at Vancouver for the 2011 Annual ASEE Conference. My wife joined me and we took a few extra days for sightseeing, including a day trip to Bowen Island. As we were waiting for the ferry to take us back to Horseshoe Bay, I kept taking pictures. I can't decide whether the log in the middle adds to the picture or is a distraction.

Nice harbour scene with this beautiful boat and nearby forest
