Photographer’s Note
These two old graineries caught my eye while driving a country backroad just north of Regina, Saskatchewan. I am attracted to old structures and this pair, as my title suggests, are well beyond their useful life and yet provide some history of better days for people like me that happen by. I also liked the autumn ambience with colors in the background.

Great title. The front one looks about good enough for fire wood. They certainly make an appealing subject for a photo, especially surrounded by the lovely colours of autumn.

Hello Gerald! Yes this could be :))) and probably happend many years ago ... out of service ... and replaced to more convenient storage but the charme this pair has will never be replaced to something new. This is glass clear, and this is why we stop. The fall colors are just beautiful and I like when the light looses its force a little and slows down, goes more inside. So much country roads, so many things to be found off the main roads. Great work, I like it a lot. Barbara.

Hello Gerald
I really like this shot. I wonder how this hut is still standing !
The great autumnal colors, the ochred leaves, and the wooden graineries make a wonderful combination.
A very pleasant picture.

Hello Gerald,
What a nice catch and record. They won't be there for very long. Each is going to collapse different direction. The old graineries really look good in autumnal setting. Beautiful photo. Regards. Latiff.

Hello Gerald,
A lovely capture of this tumbledown barn. The backdrop with its lovely autumn tones nicely complements the dark weather worn timbers. Surprising it's still standing and more or less in one piece. They don't make 'em like that anymore!

Salut Gerald!

Regards.
Daniel.

Hi Gerald:
I like it. That one on the right looks like it won't be around too much longer, unfortunately. Europe's got castles, and North America has barns--but barns don't last. Love those fall colors.

I have seen a few of those around here too!
With any snow worth mentioning the winder to come they will probably break down, but I can see there are put up some support...
The autumn mood fits the subject, good colour palette!

Hi Gerald,
If it wasn't for the surroundings, I would think that you had been playing with distortions in an achieved manner. The shapes of the run down shacks are intriguing, but I like also the Autumnal surroundings and I praise much the POV and compo.

Hi Gerald!
This one really caught my eye! I will sometimes ignore old shacks for potential photos, because they just don't have any interest. But these really have energy with the amazing angles. Nice subtle tones and textures on the old boards too. Of course before plywood, this kind of gradual warping over time was quite prevelent. You have really caught a wopper here! Well seen, and really well captured! cheers,
Steve

Hi, Gerald -
I've often seen wrecks like this, and occasionally tried to shoot them, but I have not yet gotten one like this. Now I'll have to try again! It's not just the beautiful capture of the structures themselves, giving a perfect sense of decay; it's also the bits of fall color in the background, and the colors in the foreground too. A nice scene indeed!
Best,

Hi Gerald,
One would say a visual effect !!! It is perhaps the last occasion to photograph these old constructions before they collapse, especially one… Original photograph and of good qualities, I like much the autumnal colors. Well seen and well done, Gerald cheer.

It looks like a giant with a strong leg have kicked the old shack Gerald. A fun and good capture of what to find in places left by man. Go back in 5 years and there is probably only rubble left.

G'day Gerald!
Like Alvin, when I first saw the thumbnail for this, I thought 'bad case of lens distortion'!!! (I wonder how long before someone tries to do a 'correction' workshop on it!!). With those gorgeous Fall colours in the background, this makes the 'Leaning Tower of Pisa' look very ordinary - another of your gems, well done!
Best wishes,

Hello Gerald!
It does look like a photoshop distortion effect! I'm glad you had the eyes to see this impressively beautiful (although simple) view and your decision to capture it so nicely! Autumnal colors are really interesting and the contrast with the dark grey of the graineries makes the photograph even more special! I like it a lot!
