Photographer’s Note

I have just returned from an amazing 3 week trip which I had together with Andre , where we drove accross Canada from Montreal to Vancouver.

One can see these kind of round roofed barns everywhere along the roads in Canada, and I think they are quite photogenic.
This one was somewhere on the road between the beautiful Qu'apelle valley and Regina.

Hello Wanda,

I like the composition, as the division of the frame gives a hint of the vast prairies behind!
I guess the design of the barn is typical North American, but the colour is typical Norwegian hehehe, maybe this farm belongs to someone with an origin in Scandinavia...
A fine atmosphere and good details!

Great capture of reflections in that pool below, in a peaceful picture.

Strange how this type of red seems to be very popular up north (I noticed this in Sweden too, see my 'red farm' picture) - while the more to the south/equator, the whiter the houses become.

What a wonderful shot ! That is a perfect postcard.
The composition and framework are quite suitable blue sky and clouds are very very beautiful.The atmosphere is a little desolate, I like very much.

Good to see you & I would think you're back. These barns are famous in Canada & have seen pictures of them in Geography books when we were in school& also pictures from Karen! I'm sure you had a great time with big Andre. How is he? Excellent picture with the reflections largely of the sky! Look fwd. to see more!

Hi Wanda,

Although the time spent together just past so fast, it seems an eternity since we have been there.

Just like I have told you when you showed me your result, what I like most is that the clouds fit perfectly inside the pond shape.

The red barn might be small in this vast landscape, still, it's the detail our eyes aimed for first and foremost. Good colours, great composition and... fantastic "ambiance"... LOL!

Hello Wanda! Yes THIS stands on my wishlist to cross Canada from one side to the other :))) but first I enjoy how you take me around and this is a wonderful beginning. These barns are lovely, I have them very well in mind and saw many down in Vermont but slowly they fall apart. Family farms seem to have no future but rather big companies instead. I hope it is not this way in Regina. Very peaceful farming scene, I like it a lot. All my best + welcome back, Barbara.

Hi Wanda,
I see you have just been here recently. This is really beautiful, the rural charm of Canada, the way I remembered it. Wide open land, big sky. Love the soft warm light here and beautiful sky with lovley clouds. the red barnes served as an anchor point to draw the viewer in and discover the peaceful and quietness of the this hummble nature scenery, the reflection in the ponds is also very nice and add to the composition beautifully.
