[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Late winter in the prairies of Manitoba. Early in the morning the wind is blowing snow around and the day is trying to wake itself up. An old farm house is bravely trying to stay upright against the wind and the elements. Its a losing battle.....
The watercolour painting effect here arose quite by accident. All I've done in Photoshop is to crop it and add a touch of Levels, then used hues to touch up the pink and gray.

Thats a sensitively composed shot of a lovely place. The textures and tones are remarkable and the composition is well balanced and extremely beautiful

Hello John,

I was going to mention the watercolour effect until I read the note. The view is excellent, very peaceful and well composed. The soft colours add to the desolation created by the harsh prairie winter. Sharpness is very good and overall the image is pleasant. Thanks John.

Hi John,
The muted colouring is beautiful and there is an eerie feeling about the shot. I love the windswept look and details like the falling fence. It looks like it has been abandoned for a very long time and now nature is slowly but surely reclaiming it. A wonderful image!

Wanda

Hi John,
The desolate lonely house, the tilted fence, weeds grwoing here and there, the watercolour effect - this snap has got all the ingredients framed to perfection!

This photo looks to me like the pure definition of winter. What winter is? Answer: Check this photo. There is also such a sense of loneliness beacuse of the abandoned house sorrounded by the fences, fences that cant protect the building from the weather and time. Quite poetic photo. Congratulations, Miguel.

This is a very beautiful prairie scene! In fact I must add this to my favorites, and to my themes. I love the effect you have gotten by 'accident'. TFS

Hello John,
Very nice capture of the barren landscape. If not for notes & location I would have though this would be what is left of a ghost town in the desert. I like the colors & the loneliness of this place. Good of you to capture this. It would not be around forever. Best Regards. Latiff.

Solitude and cabalistic. Your shoot is a winner!

Hello John! Now this is a lonely corner and I guess this house has been left "some" years ago to say the least. I like your pink touch you have added, it is a notch warmer like this, maybe showing that once there was life and love in this house before wind and weather took over. Interesting work, would be nice to return and see how the house does. Have a good night, Barbara.

Hi John,
A very desolate and telling image. I have much respect for the prairie and really like images like this that speak of the difficult times past and how the days of modernization have taken over the family farm. Thanks for sharing. Gerald
